Guide to the Switchvox Mobile Admin App

The Switchvox Mobile Admin App is a subset of the Switchvox admin tools available from the Switchvox web suite, designed specifically for iOS and Android mobile devices.

Where to get the Switchvox Mobile Admin App

You download the Mobile Admin App from the appropriate app store and install it on your mobile device. The App can display softphone QR tokens so phone-users can scan their configurations from the admin's phone.

Usage Requirements

  • An internet connection on your mobile device.

  • Depending on your mobile device, either iOS 8.0 or later, or Android 5.0 or later.

  • Access to Switchvox version 6.4 or later and an SSL certificate from a trusted 3rd-party Certificate Authority (this certificate information goes in the Server > HTTPS and Proxy tool).

  • An admin account on the Switchvox system with appropriate permissions to use the tools in the App. If permissions are missing, the App's tools will not be available.

  • An Access Control Rule that serves your mobile device for this purpose. That rule must have Admin API service ON. This rule depends on whether your device will use a WiFi network, or the device's data connection.

NOTE: You do not need the Switchvox Softphone App in order to run the Mobile Admin App. These Switchvox Apps are not directly related.

How to Use the App

Login Requirements

Before logging in the first time, enter your Switchvox hostname or IP address, admin Username, and admin Password. Press Sign In to activate the App. Upon successful login, these credentials are stored so you can have direct login on subsequent runs.

If you cannot log in via the App, verify that the requirements above are met. Switchvox and your networking environment must support your use of the App.

You can restrict access to the App from your mobile device by setting up a pin code and, if your device allows, fingerprint access.
