Switchvox - How Do I Assign Rapid Dial Lists To Extensions?

It is possible to create one, or more, Rapid Dial Lists when logged into the admin interface. But, the list must be assigned to an extension in order to populate the Rapid Dial Keys on that phone.

To create the Rapid Dial List login as admin.

  1. Go to Tools > Rapid Dial Lists > click on the green plus sign to create a new list > Create New Rapid Dial List: enter a name and click Create

  2. Once you have created a new list name, you will be able to click on Add Extensions, Add External Contacts and Add Status Indicators for a queue or a parking space indicator light.

Note: If you add a Queue-agent Status Indicator in an admin-created Rapid Dial List, and assign the list to a phone extension, that indicator is used on the phone's Rapid Dial Keys. If not all extensions are queue members, or require a parked call indicator, you may not want to add a Queue-agent Status Indicator in the global list. Or, you may wish to setup different global Rapid Dial Lists for those who are in call queues and use parking lots. You can only assign one active Rapid Dial List at a time to a phone.

Next, login to the user extension.

  1. Go to Setup Extensions: Manage > click on the door icon for the selected extension.

  2. Now, select the Rapid Dial List under the Features > Phone Features > Rapid Dial Favorites > choose Active Rapid Dial List to select any admin-created Rapid Dial List.

  • Alternatively, a user can create their own custom Rapid Dial List when logged into their extension. They can then assign any extensions and indicators they wish to see on their phone.
