Switchvox - Error 403 When Using Phone App or Voicemail
If you see a 403 error when trying to use a Phone App, or retrieve a voicemail message on your Digium phone:
First, check Server > Access Control > Access Control Rules to verify that User API is enabled on all appropriate rules.
Check DNS addresses under Server > IP Configuration page (you can add 8.8.8.8 to DNS Addresses). Note: saving this page drops all active calls.
Check Server > Phone Networks and make sure there is either an IP Address, or a Hostname, in the Host Address field.
If there is a third party certificate, you must use the hostname and make sure that your DNS can resolve the hostname properly; and do not enable Allow Insecure SSL on the extension settings.
If the SSL Certificate is Switchvox Managed, regenerate the SSL certificate and change Primary Hostname under Server > Phone Networks to IP Address of the server.
Then, try enabling Allow Insecure SSL on extension settings (under Setup > Manage > modify pencil > Phone Settings tab > Advanced Phone Options.
NOTE: Sometimes, you may need to reboot and/or reset your phone to factory defaults to get the phone to reconfigure after making changes.
