Switchvox - How to tell if a Digium phone is manually forwarded on a Switchvox PBX.

There are two ways to tell if a phone is manually forwarded:

  1. If you can, call the extension number of the phone directly from another internal extension, then check the call logs after you have ended the call. If the phone is forwarded manually, you will see 'FORWARD' in the call log details for the call you placed.

  2. If you cannot directly call the phone from another extension, you can use a DID number to call into an IVR. This works best when the IVR only has one play sound action that is interruptible. Make sure the IVR options extension dialing is enabled for "All Extensions". Set the DID number to route to the IVR extension number under Setup-Incoming Calls. Now place a call into the DID number that routes to the IVR and dial the extension number directly. Then after the call has ended check the call logs. You should also see 'FORWARD' in the call log details if the phone is forwarded manually. In either case, the phone forwarding will have to be disabled manually on the physical phone. There is no way to disable a manual forward remotely.
