Switchvox - After upgrading software on Switchvox, phones cannot register to the server anymore

  1. If phones time out while contacting the server after a Switchvox software update then here are some steps to follow:

  2. In settings menu after the phone has been reset to default choose digium configuration server and use the IP of the Switchvox and port 5060. Try 5062 if the phone times out

  3. In the settings menu of the phone, check network settings, IP configuration, and make sure the phone has a valid IP address. If the phones IP address is 127.0.0.1, then the phone is not pulling a valid IP address from the DHCP server and the network issue needs to be fixed before proceeding

  4. If you are using Cisco switches, make sure SmartPort ports are disabled, especially if you have the issue of phones not pulling a valid IP address

  5. If all else fails check the access control list, blocked IP list, and firewall to make sure the proper ports are open.
