Multimedia and Guest Chat

This article is a companion document for the Switchboard Multimedia and Guest Chat video. This allows you to instant message, video chat, and screen share with external contacts, clients, and business partners. 
 

• Start Guest ChatIn the Directory widget, select the Start a Guest Chat option. 

• Chat Panel 

A chat panel will open up at the bottom of the page with a link that you can share with anyone using a Google Chrome browser. Simply copy and paste the link and send via email.

Note: If you send someone the entire link, they will be able to enter the media session without logging in. 

However, if you give them just the standard multimedia chat link as shown, you will need to give them the login code (the last 5 digits of the original link).

• Chatting Once the external contact has clicked the provided link, or logs in, they can initiate a video or text chat.

• Video ChatWhen the contact initiates a video chat or screen share, you will be notified in the chat panel. Click Accept to join the session. 

You will then enter the guest chat session and will be able to show your video feed or your screen.
