Urgent Notify (V5) - FAQs

Overview

The Urgent Notify application provides the ability to create event-based notifications that are sent to a designated response team. For example, if someone at your organization dials 911, the Urgent Notify app can send a notification to your crisis team, with details of the call.

Different event-based notifications can be setup by creating different configurations. Each configuration monitors a dialed number from selected locations or extensions, and then sends a notification to a designated team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a Sangoma Business Voice customer to use this app?

Yes. In order for us to monitor your call activity and know when an emergency number has been dialed, you must be using Sangoma’s Business Voice service for this app to work.

Are calls from my cell phone also monitored?

Depends. Only if the number is dialed via you are dialing using the Sangoma Talk Mobile App. If the number is dialed NOT using our Sangoma Talk Mobile App. a notification will not be triggered.

Can I monitor any phone number or extension?

Any Business Voice phone number or extension. You can configure the application to monitor any valid Business Voice phone number or extension within your organization by creating a configuration within the Urgent Notify application. You can also create a new phone extension just for this purpose and monitor calls to it, in order to trigger notifications.

How do I access the Urgent Notify Application?

What are Urgent Notify Configurations?

Urgent Notify Configurations are created within the Urgent Notify application to define what numbers are monitored (used as triggers), who is notified when the monitored number is dialed, and what the notification message is.

Who can configure Urgent Notify Configurations?

In order to create or edit Urgent Notify Configurations, a user must first be entitled.

How do I access my Urgent Notify Configurations?

  1. Using a browser, navigate to the Urgent Notify Application via this link: https://teamhub-apps.sangoma.com/ .

  2. Login using your Business Voice Portal Credential.
