Wholesale SIP Trunking - Port-out PINs
VI Communication Services offers the ability to set a 4-digit PIN for DIDs that reside on the VI network. This is designed to help protect against unauthorized port-outs.
To apply a PIN, navigate to DIDs > Manage DIDs, then click the pen/paper icon to edit your DID. If the DID supports the ability to set a PIN, you will find “Port-out PIN” at the bottom of the screen:
After entering your desired PIN (must be exactly 4 digits), click on “Save Changes”.
Please do not use common/easy to guess PINs such as “1234” or “4321”. Also, do not use PINs that have 4 of the same number, such as “0000”.
Please note that only DIDs on the VI-specific network support PINs. If you do not see the Port-out PIN option, this means the number resides on an underlying carrier. You may have the option to port the DID to the VI network. Please contact our Porting team for more information.
Disclaimer:
Customers who utilize port-out pins must follow all FCC regulations on using pins. This also means the customer must provide the PIN to end users/resellers should they choose to port out their numbers. Pins are designed to help protect customers from unauthorized port-outs and cannot be used to block legitimate port-out requests. Please also note that pins are an added layer of protection for numbers, and it is still the customer’s responsibility to monitor all port-outs for legitimacy. VoIP Innovations also reserves the right to revoke access to PIN protection and existing pins if abuse is found.
