Business Voice - HIPAA Compliance
Overview
HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) was written to protect the privacy and security of Personal Health Information (PHI) of US citizens.
As such, the BV and BV+ platforms have both been independently audited and met the requirements for a HIPAA attestation.
Business Voice (Cloud)
Sangoma can enter a BAA (Business Associate Agreement) to outline terms of HIPAA compliance including details around PHI
The process is for the request to be sent to Legal@sangoma.com with:
Name of Customer/ Subscriber
List of products/ services Sangoma will be providing them
Approximate turnaround time
Business Voice Plus (StarBox)
The StarBox 2500/2550 and 6000 are HIPAA compliant (for local registrations only- not remote phones)
Sangoma admins will need to ENABLE HIPAA/ PCI settings in Aurora (under Add On Manager) for interested StarBox eligible customers
Voicemail to Email will NOT be available for locations with HIPAA enabled for compliance reasons
