What are Local DIDs?
A DID (Direct Inward Dial) is a telephone number that you can use with SIPStation to make calls to, and receive calls from, the "outside world" - i.e. to/from the public switched telephone network (PTSN). "Local" numbers are associated with a specific geographic area (rate center).
We offer local DIDs in many areas of the U.S. and Canada. These are available in our SIPStation Store at https://www.sipstation.com. You can also port-in a local number that you already own, depending upon its rate center (geographic area) and carrier. See our number porting wiki for more information on how to make a port request.
Each local DID has a monthly fee. You will need at least one trunk (call path) in order for a DID to work.
What are Toll-Free Numbers?
A toll-free number lets your callers call you without incurring charges, because you pay for the call. Toll-free numbers begin with 800, 844, 855, 866, 877, or 888. Toll-free numbers are available in our SIPStation Store at https://www.sipstation.com. You can also port-in a toll-free number that you already own. See our number porting wiki for more information on how to make a port request.
Each toll-free number has a monthly fee in addition to a per-minute rate. Toll-free service is a prepaid, metered service in SIPStation. Please see our Toll Free Numbers wiki for complete information.

What If I Can't Find What I'm Looking For in the SIPStation Store?
We cover many areas in the U.S. and Canada. All the DIDs we currently have available are listed in the SIPStation Store at https://www.sipstation.com. These numbers are immediately available for you to purchase and use. New numbers come online regularly, so you can check back with us later if you are not able to find numbers now. There are some area codes that are not accessible, such as 212, 808, 953 and several others. In certain areas, new numbers are not available but you may be able to port-in an existing number that you already own. See our number porting wiki for more information on how to make a port request.
If you have used the DID search function in the SIPStation Store, but you aren't finding what you are looking for, we might be able to help. Please use our special ordering process. A link to the special-order form can be found under your search results when you are logged into the SIPStation Store. Sometimes we are able to obtain new numbers relatively quickly (within 1 week). Other times, we will need to create a backorder, which can take up to 45 days to fulfill and is not guaranteed to be successful. We will communicate with you about your options when you make a special order with us. The more flexible you are, and the broader your search, the better the chances are that we will be able to find something that meets your needs.
Does SIPStation Have DIDs in Canada or Other Countries?
We offer DIDs in Canada in addition to the United States.
We do not offer DIDs from other countries outside of the United States and Canada at this time. Sorry, we are not able to special-order new numbers from countries outside the U.S. and Canada, and we cannot port them in.
Can I Move DIDs Between Different SIPStation Accounts or Locations?
Yes. If you have more than one location set up in your SIPStation account, you can move DIDs between the locations at any time without a fee. For more information on moving DIDs, please visit our wiki "Moving DIDs between locations."
If you want to move DIDs from one SIPStation account to another (not within the same SIPStation account), you will need to open a number porting ticket in our support center at https://support.sangoma.com to make your request.
Can I Purchase Blocks of Contiguous DIDs (Consecutive Numbers)?
Yes, depending upon availability, you can purchase consecutive DIDs in the SIPStation Store. Availability is limited in certain areas. Also, the availability of blocks starting with "even" numbers, such as -1000, 1100, etc. may be limited.
The SIPStation Store has been redesigned with an improved search capability. When you search for numbers, the results are arranged in numerical order. If you find consecutive DIDs, you can select and order them just as you would any other number. We hope you enjoy this new feature! There is no extra fee when you select and purchase consecutive DIDs in our online store.
If you are not able to find what you are looking for in the store, you can make a special order to request consecutive DIDs. There is a per-DID setup fee if we are able to fulfill your request.
