Troubleshooting Meet

I don't hear any audio.
I cannot get my mic to work and others cannot hear me.

On Windows Desktops/Laptops, you must allow the Google Chrome Browser to have access to your camera, speakers and microphone.
On Mac we strongly suggest using Google Chrome instead of Safari.  You must set your computer permissions to allow Chrome access to your camera, speakers and microphone.

For best audio quality, we suggest using a headset with a microphone.

IMPORTANT: Using laptop or computer speakers can cause noise or echo. If this happens, please use a headset.

My laptop fan starts making noise when I join or start a conference.

Your laptop is working hard to process high bandwidth video.
We suggest lowering your video resolution to "Low Resolution".
Please refer to FAQ on resolution:  Meet FAQ#Howmuchbandwidth/internetspeeddoIneedtorunSangomaMeet?

Bad audio quality when using my laptop/computer speakers.

We recommend using a headset with a microphone for best audio performance, both on mobile and desktop/laptop.

Make sure you are using a quality headset with a microphone. We recommend using USB (if applicable) or Bluetooth headsets.

Computer speakers may generate noise and echo that can be distracting in a large conference with other participants that are also using default computer speakers and mic. Therefore, using a headset will provide a much better audio experience.

Unsupported browser page or yellow warning box about browser is shown

Sangoma Meet uses the latest WebRTC technologies and not all browsers have same support for WebRTC. For that reason your experience with Sangoma Meet will vary depending on the browser you choose.

We recommend NOT using the following browsers: Mac Safari, Internet Explorer.

  • Solution: use Chrome or install Sangoma Meet Desktop App (on Windows/Mac)

Blurry screen sharing

If you are experiencing network issues while screen sharing, we recommend turning off your camera. This should improve the quality of your screen sharing to some extend.
