The SS7 CIC object allows a user to both monitor and provision either an individual CIC or a Range of CIC's. To open and display the SS7 CIC object, click on one of the CIC's displayed in the Object Table Tab of the Circuit Group object (Created under the SS7 Channel Group). This will display the individual CIC along with a set of provisioning buttons. The same set of buttons can also be accessed by right clicking on an individual CIC that is displayed under the object table tab. See information below.

There are two separate SS7 Circuit Group objects that are created when configuring SS7 CICs. The first is created under the SS7 stack and the second is created under the SS7 Channel Group. The SS7 Circuit Group allows a user the ability to click on each of the individual CICs in the object table. When clicking on each individual CIC, this opens up the SS7 CIC object which displays the state of the CIC that is being viewed. When viewing the SS7 CIC object that is created under the SS7 stack object the object pane displayed will look like the first screen capture below. When viewing the SS7 CIC object created under the Channel Group, the object pane displayed will look like the second screen capture below.

In Service - Bring a CIC into service from an Out of Service State.

Out Of Service - Take a CIC Out of Service.

Maintenance Block- Initiate a Maintenance Block on a specific CIC or range of CIC's. Calls will not be processed on a CIC put into Maintenance Block Mode. Any calls that are on that circuit will be brought to an idle state gracefully. Any calls on that CIC will be allowed to continue until call is released.

Maintenance Unblock - Unblock a CIC or range of CIC's from the Maintenance Block state

Reset - Reset a CIC.

Circuit Query Message - Send a CQM (Circuit Query Message) to query for the CIC state. The CQM (Circuit Query Message) and CQR (Circuit Query Request) messages are printed in Call Tracing. The Circuit Query Message can query one CIC at a time but cannot query a range of CICs. Below is screen capture of what is printed in Call Trace when invoking the Circuit Query Message.

Continuity Check Request - To initiate a Continuity Check on a CIC or a group of CICs, right click on the CICs entry and select Continuity Check Request. The results will appear in the Manual COT Result column (Start, Start NACK, Success, Failure) and in Call Trace log.
