Overview

This page is intended to assist in the choice of the correct cable to connect a particular Eiconcard to the specific interface of the Data Communications Equipment (DCE) in use.

Using the appropriate modem cable (also known as a DCE cable), an Eiconcard can be plugged directly into most Data Communications Equipment (DCE) - including modems, multiplexers, modem eliminators, line-drivers and switches.

For more specialist uses, other types of cables, such as cross-over or  'null modem' cables, for example, that connect cards back-to-back, are also available. These are detailed below each table.

Using the tables below, find your type of Eiconcard and then the type of connection required in order to discover the appropriate cable and its part number.

Where there is a picture, you can click on the image to enlarge it and examine the plugs at both ends of the cable to assist in the selection of the correct part number. Note that in each case, the upper plug goes in to the Eiconcard, and the lower plug is the one that will connect with the modem, or whatever DCE equipment is being used.

NOTE

The image will launch in a separate browser window which you can simply close to return to this one.
