Advanced numbers parameters translation on 1010
Introduction:
When integrating with SS7 networks, there may be requirements to translate (override) the values of the parameters in dialed/called number, originating/calling number, generic number, and so on, in ISUP messages. The Dialogic IMG 1004 Integrated Media Gateway and Dialogic IMG 1010 Integrated Media Gateway support the translation of these parameters in addition to the digit translations.
Advanced Number Translations under a Translation Table Entry are only performed when that particular Translation Table Entry matches. If the "Re-run option" is set on that Translation Table Entry in order to also translate a different number type, then any Advanced Number Translations configured under the subsequently matched Translation Table Entry will be also performed.
Advanced Dialed number translation objects and parameters are listed below:
1- Advanced Dialed Number Translation
The following parameters can be translated using "Advanced Dialed Number translation" in Dialed (called) number:
Nature of Address
Numbering Plan
Internal Network Number Indicator (INN)
Configuration in Client View:
Dialogic IMG EMS -> Routing Configuration -> Incoming Translation Tables -> Translation Table -> Translation Entry -> New Advanced Dialed Number Translation
2- Advanced Originating Number Translation
The following parameters can be translated in Originating (calling) numbers using "Advanced Originating Number Translation":
Nature of Address
Numbering Plan
Calling Party Category
Number Incomplete Indicator
Screening Indicator
Presentation Indicator
SI/PI Priority
Configuration in Client View:
Dialogic IMG EMS > New Routing Configuration > New Incoming Translation Tables > New Incoming Translation Table > New Translation Entry > New Advanced Originating Number Translation.
3- Advanced Generic Number Translation
The following parameters can be translated in Generic Number using "Advanced Generic Number Translation":
Number Qualifier Indicator (ITU Only)
Nature of Address
Numbering Plan
Numbering Incomplete Indicator (ITU Only)
Screening Indicator (ITU Only)
Presentation Indicator
Configuration in Client View:
Dialogic IMG EMS -> Routing Configuration -> Incoming Translation Tables -> Translation Table -> Translation Entry -> New Advanced Generic Number Translation
4- Advanced Billing Number Translation
The following parameters can be translated in Billing Number using "Advanced Billing Number Translation":
Nature of Address
Numbering Plan
Internal Network Number Indicator (INN)
Configuration in Client View:
Dialogic IMG EMS -> Routing Configuration -> Incoming Translation Tables -> Translation Table -> Translation Entry -> Advanced Billing Number Translation
5- Advanced Carrier Number Translation
The following parameters can be translated in Carrier Number using "Advanced Carrier Number Translation":
Type of Network
Network Identification Plan
Circuit Code
Configuration in Client View:
Dialogic IMG EMS -> Routing Configuration -> Incoming Translation Tables -> Translation Table -> Translation Entry -> New Advanced Carrier Number Translation
Notes:
The parameters in "Advanced number translation" objects are all set to "No translation" by default when the objects are first created. Each parameter value can be selected from the drop-down list depending on the required values for the SS7 network. For example, the "NOA" parameter in "Advanced Dialed Number Translation" can be set to "004- International Number" under a "Translation Entry" that has "00&" String for Dialed number.
If "Privacy" is enabled in a SIP profile and RPID header is received in an INVITE in a SIP to SS7 call, then SI and PI parameters in Originating Number can be only translated if "SI/PI Priority" setting is enabled.
