The Switchboard in Switchvox 6.0 is visually different than the one in Switchvox 5.X; it has the following new features:
Switchboard Layouts, accessed from Tools > Extension Features > Switchvox Layouts, lets the Admin design collections of widgets (formerly called panels) for various purposes, such as monitoring, queuing, and personal. The Admin can assign these layouts to groups using the Bulk-Modify Extensions tool.
Notifications can give you visual and audio alerts in your browser when you miss a call, have a voicemail message, or have an incoming call, text chat, or video chat. You might also get notifications about queues, if have the correct permissions.
A voicemail widget lets you find and listen to voicemail.
The Switchboard still has most of the tools you used in 5.X:
Phonebooks and their entries are now in the Contacts window. That’s now managed in My Contacts, and in the Switchboard window you can show all of your contacts, or filtered by Tag.
A new widget, Contacts and Tags , offers a list of calls for each contact (this used to be extended entries in Phonebooks). With permission, you can see and do all of the following activities related to someone else’s calls:
See each of a contact’s calls with the caller ID of the other party (this is no longer limited to 2 calls)
Pickup a specific incoming call
Monitor, whisper, or barge into an active call
Record an active call
Switchboard Layouts
The Switchboard Layout in 5.x is not maintained by the update to 6.0 . If your Switchvox administrator has not created a Layout for you (or several), you can create one or more for yourself. Click the monitor/layout icon in the upper right of your Switchboard.

The Switchboard
The Switchboard is a graphical display of what’s happening on Switchvox. It can show your own calls, your coworkers’ calls, call-queue activity, and your parking lot. You can drag and drop to transfer calls, and one click lets you make a call, pick up calls, record or monitor calls, log in and out of call queues, and more. Formerly called Panels, these features are now inserted into the Switchboard as Switchboard Widgets. You can also integrate other web applications, such as Google Maps, with your call activity. You can build more web applications using Switchboard Custom Widgets tool. From the Admin web tool suite, go to SETUP > EXTENSIONS > MANAGE and click the Login as this User icon for the extension you wish to work with; or use the Bulk-Modify Extensions Button and click Switchboard Layouts to a group of extensions.
To open an extension's Switchboard, click the Switchboard button (in the upper right corner of its User Suite).
