Rear Panel Interfaces - DS3_Optical I/O

The following illustration shows the rear panel interfaces on the IMG 2020 using the DS3 I/O:

Connector

Description

CTRL 0, CTRL 1

Redundant 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet connectors providing secure communication with an external host or device.

Auto-negotiating, full-duplex connectors that support MDIX (cable crossover), eliminating the need for crossover cables for point-to-point communications.

Base MAC is always assigned to the CTRL interfaces. The IP address assigned to this interface through dhcp or bootup.cfg will be used for OAMP support.

Can be utilized for RTP Traffic and IP Signaling if required. IP addresses must not conflict with the IP address set up through dhcp.conf or bootup.cfg files.

AUX 0, AUX 1

Reserved for future use.

DATA A0, DATA A1 DATA B0, DATA B1

Reserved for future use: DATA C0, DATA C1 DATA D0, DATA D1)

Redundant 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet connectors providing an interface to the internal Ethernet switch.

Used to communicate to all IMG 2020 devices that communicate over the public network.

Auto-negotiating, full-duplex connectors that support MDIX (cable crossover), eliminating the need for crossover cables for point-to-point communications.

Interface DATA A is reserved for both RTP traffic and IP signaling.

Interface DATA B is reserved for both RTP traffic and IP signaling.

Interface DATA C is reserved for future use.

Interface DATA D is reserved for future use.

T1/E1

0 - 3 T1/E1 DS-1's. (RJ48 Connectors)

Redundancy (1+1 T1/E1 redundancy)

Reserved for future use.

DS3

75 ohm BNC connectors supporting three DS3 links.

28 T1 DS-1's

21 E1 DS-1's

OC-3

Small form factor pluggable optical modules. 1+1 auto-protection switching (APS) providing full link redundancy and hitless switchover in case of line failure.

Ethernet LEDs

RJ-48 Ethernet connectors containing one Ethernet status LED:

Green/blinking green - 1000Base-T link present/1000Base-T activity

Orange/blinking orange - 100Base-T link present/100Base-T activity

Power supply LEDs

Indicate the power supply status:

Off = No power to both power supply units.

Flashing red with audible alarm = No power to one of the redundant supplies

Green = AC present. Only standby output on.

Blue = DC power supply on and OK.
