Manual configure remote Polycom phone:

To register the remote Polycom phone to the Switchvox, do the following:

Before starting, you will need 3 things from the Switchvox. You will need the extension number, the phone password of the extension (not the voicemail/numeric password) and the WAN IP address of the switchvox network.

To set up the phone password:

  • Go to Setup > Extensions > Manage

  • Modify the extension

  • Phone Settings > Common Settings

  • Set phone password (This is the password that the phone will use to register to Switchvox)

  • Save SIP Extension

Boot up the phone and obtain the Polycom phones IP address. Open up a browser and input the ip address of the phone into the the url section. You may be prompt to login.

Polycom web interface login:
Username: Polycom
Password: 456

Go to Lines then select which line you wish to configure and fill in the following fields:

LINE 1 (This is just an example so please fill in the correct fields accordingly.)

Display Name: 111 (extension number)
Address: 111 (extension number)
Auth User ID: 111 (extension number)
Auth Password: phonepassword!
Label: 111 (extension number)

Under 'Server 1'

Address: wan.ip.adr.of.pbx
Port: 5060
Expires: 120
Register: 1

all other settings are defaulted, no need to change any other settings

Scroll down and click submit. This will reboot and phone and the phone should be registered so long as you have the correct ports open on the firewall.
