IMG 1010 - Configure Translation and Routing Tables (Treatment Example)
Overview:
To be able to route a call through specific channel groups using specific numbers, Routing Tables and Translation Tables must be created. In this example routing a call using the numbers 617xxxx and 508xxxx will be accomplished. If a call was being made from a PingTel IP phone to an SJPhone application then the number to dial would be 508xxxx (xxxx = any number). If call was being made from the SJPhone to the Pingtel IP Phone then the number to dial would be 617xxxx (xxxx = any number). Follow procedure below to configure Routing and Translation Tables.
Routing and Translation Tables:
The last step to setting up the diagram below is to configure Routing and Translation Tables so the call can go through. Note in the diagram that in order to make a call from the IP Phone to the SJPhone the user would have to dial 508 and then four numbers after that. In the other direction the SJPhone would need to dial 617 and then any numbers after that. Follow procedure below.
To create a route table entries that will route the call you must first create the route table. Right Click on Routing Configuration and select New Route Tables. The Route Table object pane just created will allow you to create multiple Route Tables each with multiple Route Table Entries. No information is entered in this pane.
Route Table is named RouteTable1. See screen capture below.
Right Click on the Route Table and select Add Route Entry. This entry will be for calling from the IP phone to the SJPhone. The route entry pane will appear. See Below.
This application will require two entries in the routing table. The first entry will be the route from the IP phone to the SJPhone.
Entry ID:
This ID is automatically populated with next available route table entry number. It can be changed by clicking in the field and selecting an ID from the drop down menu.
Enable:
This allows the user to disable a route but not have to re-enter it if the route entry will be used at another time.
True: The entry is valid and will be part of the table.
False: The entry is not valid and will be omitted from the route table.
Route Criteria Type:
Calls can be routed lots of different ways. In this example select Dialed Number from the drop down menu. We will route this call when a specific number is dialed. See IMG 1010 - Route Entry for more information on the Route Entry Pane.
Router String:
This will be the number the SJPhone will look route on. Dial 508 and then any sequence of numbers after that
In Channel Group:
In this example, this route entry will be for outgoing only therefore Not Used is left alone. There will be another route entry created for incoming
Match IMG as well:
If you would like to specify that the call cannot go through any other IMG but a specific one, select the IMG from the drop down menu. For this example leave the default value
Criteria Value:
This box is valid for Routing Criteria Type of Called NOA and Calling NOA. Leave Default Value
Route Action Type:
This field allows you to choose how to route the call. For this example set Route Action Type to Channel Group. This means that when the routing engine routes the call it will be routed to a Channel Group. Other choices are Route Lists, Route Tables, TOD Tables, and Treatment Tables
Outgoing Channel Group:
Since the call is being initiated at the IP Phone the call will automatically come in on the IP Phone channel group (IP Phone is the network element of the IP Phone Channel Group). Select SJPhone as the outgoing channel group from drop down menu. Call will now route out on channel group SJPhone
Once the Route Entry that routes the call from the IP Phone is completed, right click on the Route Table and add a second route table entry. Use the screen capture below to add in the fields. This route entry is for Outgoing only on Channel Group Pingtel.
The last step is to create the Translation Tables. In this example there will be no translation. The translation table is created so that treatments can be played on specific numbers etc. Right Click on Routing Configuration and select New Incoming Translation Tables. This object is a placeholder for multiple translation tables. No information needs to be entered here. This is for incoming translations to the Pingtel Channel group only.
Right Click on the Translation Tables object just created and select New Translation Table. Enter a name which describes this table. In this example it is called TransTable1
Right Click on the Translation Table just created and select New Translation Entry. See screen capture Below.
Type Of Operation:
Select Translation for type of operation
String:
Enter 617& in String field. This will accept 617 and any number sequence after that.
Dialed Number Translation:
Enter 617& for Dialed Number Translation. This is the translated number. In this example there is no translation
Right Click on Translation Table again and select New Translation Entry. See screen capture below:

Enter 508& for Dialed Number Translation. This is the translated number. In this example there is no translation
The route tables and translation tables are now configured to complete a call from the IP Phone to the SJPhone and also from the SJPhone to the IP Phone. From the IP phone you would dial dial 508-xxxx and call will be routed to the SJPhone. SJPhone From the SJPhone you would dial dial 617-xxxx and IP Phone will be routed to the IP Phone.
