IMG 1010 - SPIROU-ITX in SIP INFO

The ITX/TXA messages are used in a Spirou (Signalisation Pour l'Interconnexion des Réseaux Ouverts/Signaling for the Interconnection of Open Networks) network for audio services that are paid for by either a flat rate calculation or time based calculation. The calls are routed to the operator, and the operator reports the payment amount with the ITX message. An example of this functionality would be a customer calling a weather forecast service with a fee involved. The call is routed through an operator which would report the payment amount by the ITX messages and the customer would get charged accordingly.

SS7 to SIP - The IMG will accept the ITX message from the SS7 ISUP leg and interwork it into a SIP INFO Message on the SIP leg.

SIP to SS7 - The IMG will accept the SIP INFO message (RFC 2976 - The SIP INFO Method) from SIP leg and generate an ITX message onto the SS7 ISUP leg.

Call Flows:

SIP (INFO) to SS7(ITX)

SS7(ITX)  to  SIP (INFO)

Call Trace:

Call Trace - Spirou SIP to SS7

Call Trace - Spirou SS7 to Spirou

Configuration:

Below are instructions on how to configure the IMG to interwork SIP INFO message into an ITX message and interwork the ITX message into a SIP INFO message. Verify the following entities are configured before proceeding:

Configure Spirou Variant

The Spirou Variant comes prepackaged in the GCEMS server. The table below displays the files and location of files.

Directory Path

Files

/opt/dialogic/common/config/Variant/France

france_cpc.cfg

france_isup_frmt.cfg

france_l3pcic.cfg

/opt/dialogic/common/config/Imports

Spirou.xml

These are the files needed to support the Spirou Variant. To configure this variant onto the IMG, the files must be imported to IMG. This is done through the ClientView application. Follow the next few steps to configure/import these files to the IMG.

  • Right Click on IMG EMS and select New Signaling Variants. This is a container object, multiple signaling variants can be created under this object.

  • Right Click on New Signaling Variants and selectImport Variant Table.

  • The 'Configure Import Variant Table' dialog box will appear. Select Spirou.xml from drop down menu. Select Next and then FINISH after verifying the correct .xml file was selected. See Below.

  • Under the Signaling Variants object the France variant will appear in the ClientView tree along with all the PPL messages needed for this variant.

Create SS7 Stack with France as the SS7 Variant.

Create an SS7 Signaling Stack that will have Spirou added as a variant. This Stack will be associated with an ISUP Group created under an SS7 Channel Group.

  • Right Click on IMG name and select New Signaling. A signaling object will get created. Under this object, the SS7 Stack is created. See IMG 1010 - Signaling Object link.

  • Right Click on Signaling object and select New SS7. An SS7 Standalone object will get created. See IMG 1010 - SS7 Signaling Object .

  • Right Click on SS7 Standalone and select New SS7 Stack. Enter an OPC and select France from drop down menu in the SS7 Variant field. (folder in /opt/dialogic/common/config/Variant directory).

  • Finish configuring the stack with Link Sets, Links and Routes. See IMG 1010 - Configuring SS7 Signaling - 10.5.1 link.

Create SIP Profile (SGP) and enable INFO for Spirou/ITX

Create a SIP SGP Profile which enables 'INFO for Spirou/ITX'. The SGP Profile will be used in conjunction with a SIP gateway to specify that certain parameters are to be associated with that gateway. See below

  • Right click on Profiles object and select New SIP SGP. A SIP_Prof0 object will appear. Change the ID from the first field to something other than ID:0. ID:0 is the default SIP profile and the 'INFO for Spirou/ITX' field is disabled when the default configuration is used.

  • Enter a name in the 'SIP Profile Name' field to identify this profile.

  • To enable the 'INFO for Spirou/ITX' select enable from drop down menu in the 'INFO for Spirou/ITX' field. See screen capture below:

  • See IMG 1010 - SIP Profile - 10.5.3 link for more information on configuring each of the fields.

Create SIP signaling with Spirou Variant enabled

Create a SIP Signaling Stack using the Spirou Variant in /opt/dialogic/common/Variant directory.

  • Right Click on Signaling object and select New SIP. A SIP Signaling object gets created. (SIP Stack).

  • In SIP Signaling object created, select the SIP SGP profile from drop down menu of the 'Remote IMG's SIP Profile' field. This is the profile created above.

Create SS7 and SIP Channel Groups

SS7 and SIP Channel Groups are created for routing the calls through the IMG.

  • Right Click on IMG EMS object and select New Routing Configuration. See link IMG 1010 - Routing Configuration Object.

  • Right Click on Routing Configuration object and select New Channel Groups. See IMG 1010 - Channel Groups link.

  • Right Click and select New Channel Group. Enter a name for this Channel Group and select SS7 from Signaling Type field drop down menu. See IMG 1010 - Channel Group link for more information on configuring the SS7 Channel Group, the ISUP Group under it, and the New Circuits (IMG 1010 - Circuit Group) under the ISUP Group.

  • Right Click and select New Channel Group. Enter a name for this Channel Group and select SIP from Signaling Type field drop down menu. See IMG 1010 - Channel Group link for more information

Create External Gateway

Create an external gateway. This will be the gateway the IMG will communicate with using the Spirou interworking feature.

  • Right Click on IMG EMS again and select New External Network Elements. See IMG 1010 - External Network Elements link.

  • Right Click on External Network Elements object and select New External Gateways. See IMG 1010 - External Gatewayslink.

  • Right Click on External Gateways object and select New External Gateway. Enter the following from screen capture: See IMG 1010 - External Gateway link:

    • Enter a Name in the name field.

    • Enter an IP address in the 'Gateway IP Address' field.

    • Select SIP from Gateway Signaling Protocol drop down menu.

    • Select the SIP SGP Profile created earlier from drop down menu of SIP Profile field.

  • Go back to the SIP Channel Group created. Right Click on SIP channel group and select the gateway created. See below:

See IMG 1010 - IP Network Element for more information.

Create Route Tables to Route Calls

At this point the only thing left would be to create Route Tables and Route Entries to route the calls to appropriate channel groups etc. See the following links:

IMG 1010 - Routing Overview

Additional Information:

  • The IMG will interwork the SIP INFO message into a SPIROU ITX message.

  • The IMG will interwork the SPIROU ITX message into a SIP INFO message.

  • Interworking both from SIP INFO to SPIROU ITX and from SPIROU ITX to SIP INFO is supported

  • The IMG supports the C2 and C3 parameters in the body of the incoming SIP INFO(ITX) message format to appear in any order. (For example: C2 may appear first followed by C3, or vice versa).

  • For SS7-to-SIP, the IMG1010 willll generate the SIP INFO(ITX) message format with C2 first followed by C3 in the message body.

  • The IMG supports incoming SIP INFO(ITX) messages with Content-Length set as 13. In this message format, there are no trailing CR/LF characters at the end of the message body.

  • In SS7-to-SIP scenario, the IMG will generate the SIP INFO(ITX) message format with Content-Length set as 15 with the trailing CR/LF.

  • The IMG will not maintain any information related to the ITX message.

  • No labels
