IMG 1010 - An Overview of AdminView

The AdminView utility provides for the administration of user privileges/roles and authentication. There are two domains in AdminView:

  • User Management Domain- Controls the assignment of user accounts or roles (Administrative, Basic).

  • Equipment Management Domain- Administers three levels or privileges (Configuration, Provisioning, and Monitoring). These privileges are configured into the ClientView application. Depending on the privilege assigned to the account will determine what the user can do in ClientView.

User Management Domain

The user management domain controls user authentication and roles. There are two levels:

Account Types

Administrator

Add User accounts

Remove User accounts

Assign User Account Roles

Change Passwords

List One or all users

Display Current User information

List all available commands

Display Help

Quit program

Basic

Display current user information

Reset Self Password

List all available commands* Display Help

Quit program

A user assigned this role is only allowed to view his own role and change his own password. Every user is assigned with this role by default.

Equipment Management Domain

The roles assigned in the Equipment Manager Domain determine the actions a user is allowed to make on the IMG using ClientView.

Default Administrator Information

By default there is one user created. This user is an administrative user. The User ID is admin and Password is admin. The roles of this account are as follows:

ClientView Log In

When a user launches ClientView, they are prompted for a Username and Password. The default is admin/admin.

Re-installation of Software

User account information remains through a re-installation of the IMG System Software.
