IMG 1010 - SIP Options KeepAlive Configure (Busy Out)

Description:

Use this pane to configure parameters for the SIP Busy Out feature. The IMG can monitor the status of external SIP gateways by sending periodic SIP OPTIONS messages. If the gateway does not respond in a configured amount of time the IMG will mark the gateway as down and attempt to re-route the call to a different gateway.

Accessing this Pane:

Dialogic IMG EMS -> Profiles -> SIP Profile -> Options Keep-Alive

Maximum Objects:

Field Descriptions:

Number of Responses:

The number of positive responses received from gateway before marking a gateway as "up" (in a reachable state). Drop down menu has selections from 1 and 10 (Default = 3).

Up Timer:

Timer to define the interval the IMG will send the OPTIONS Keep Alive message to the gateway when the gateway is up and responsive. Timer is in seconds (Default=120 seconds) If the gateway does not respond within the timer specifications, the gateway will be marked as down and calls will not be routed to the gateway. The value can be changed by clicking in the field and entering the new value.

Range of Values = 10-600 seconds.

Default value = 120 seconds.

Down Timer:

Timer to define the interval the IMG will send the OPTIONS Keep Alive message to the gateway when the gateway is down (non responsive). If the gateway responds within the timer specifications, and the number of responses indicated happens, the gateway will be marked as up and the routing of calls to the gateway will resume. The value can be changed by clicking in the field and entering the new value.

Range of Values = 1-120 seconds.

Default value = 30 seconds.

200 OK response only:

Disabled (Default)- When property value is set to disabled, the feature is disabled meaning any response will be considered as a valid response and the gateway will be tagged as reachable.

Enabled- When property value is set to enabled, the feature is enabled and only 200 OK responses will be considered.

To enable the SIP Busy Out feature on a specific gateway the Options Keep Alive field in the External Gateway must be enabled first. See below.

SIP External Gateway Network Pane (10.5.0 Software):

If the SIP profile ID field in the SIP Profile object is set to ID:0 then the SIP Options Keep Alive fields can not be changed. The fields in the SIP Options will be green indicating that the fields are not selectable. Change the ID in the SIP profile object to something other than ID:0. Below is a screen capture showing the SIP object in ClientView:
