SPIROU/ITX in SIP INFO

The ITX/TXA messages are used in a Spirou (Signalisation Pour l'Interconnexion des Réseaux Ouverts/Signaling for the Interconnection of Open Networks) network for audio services that are paid for by either a flat rate calculation or time based calculation. The calls are routed to the operator, and the operator reports the payment amount with the ITX message. An example of this functionality would be a customer calling a weather forecast service with a fee involved. The call is routed through an operator which would report the payment amount by the ITX messages and the customer would get charged accordingly.
SS7 to SIP - The IMG 2020 will accept the ITX message from the SS7 ISUP leg and interwork it into a SIP INFO Message on the SIP leg.
SIP to SS7 - The IMG 2020 will accept the SIP INFO message (RFC 2976 - The SIP INFO Method) from SIP leg and generate an ITX message onto the SS7 ISUP leg.

Configuration
Below are instructions on how to configure the IMG 2020 to interwork SIP INFO message into an ITX message and interwork the ITX message into a SIP INFO message.
Initial Configuration
Before configuring, the IMG 2020 must have an initial configuration created on it. Follow the procedure before proceeding onto configuring the SIP Session Timer feature.
Create SS7 Stack with Spirou Variant
Create an SS7 Signaling Stack that will have Spirou as the selected ISUP variant. This Stack will eventually be linked to an ISUP Group created under an SS7 Channel Group object.
Configure SS7 Network
Right click on the Dialogic object and select New SS7. The SS7 object is a parent or container object and no configuration is needed within this object. Refer to the topic for more information.# Right click on theSS7object and selectNew SS7 Network. Select a Network ID from the drop down menu. Refer to the topic for more information on this object.# Right click on the SS7 Network object and selectNew SS7 Nodes. The SS7 Nodes object is a parent or container object and no configuration is needed in this object. Within the Primary Node object select from the drop down menu which node will be utilizing the SS7 network that is being created. Configure the SS7 signaling stack with Spirou as the variant.
Right click on the SS7 Network object and select New SS7 Stack. The Stack ID is automatically populated with next available number. In the OPC (Originating Point Code) field enter the point code of the SS7 Stack being configured. Refer to the topic for more information.
From the ISUP field select Spirou from the drop down menu. Refer to screen capture below!SC_WG_Spirou_select_ss7stack.png|title=!

Finish configuring the stack with Link Sets, Links, Destination, Routes, and Circuits. Refer to the topic for more information on finishing the SS7 configuration.
Create SIP Profile (SGP) and enable INFO for Spirou/ITX
Create a SIP Profile which enables 'INFO for Spirou/ITX'. The SIP Profile will be used in conjunction with a SIP gateway to specify that certain parameters are to be associated with that gateway. See below
Right click on the Profiles object and select New SIP Profiles. The SIP Profiles object is a container object and no configuration is needed here. Refer to the topic for more information on this object.
Right click on the SIP Profiles object and select New SIP Profile. The first SIP Profile created is the default SIP Profile and all the fields will be shaded green. In the Default SIP Profile, the fields cannot be modified. Disregard this profile.
Right click on the SIP Profiles object again and select New SIP Profile again. In the SIP Profile object that appears, either enter a name that identifies this SIP Profile or accept the default name already entered. In this example the name Spirou_Profile was entered. Refer to the topic for more information on this object.
Right click on the SIP Profile just created and select New SIP Advanced Settings. To enable the INFO for Spirou/ITX select Enable from drop down menu in the INFO for Spirou/ITX field. Refer to screen capture below.

Create External Gateway
Create an external gateway. This will be the gateway that the IMG 2020 will communicate with.
Right click on the Dialogic object again and select New External Network Elements. The External Network Elements object is a container object and no configuration is needed. Refer to the topic for more information.

Configure SIP Signaling
The configuration above displays how to configure the SIP Profile and External SIP Gateway to configure in the Spirou Variant functionality. The next step is to configure the SIP signaling stack and SIP Channel Groups. Refer to the topic for a procedure on how to configure the SIP functionality.
Create SS7 Channel Groups
SS7 and SIP Channel Groups are created for routing the calls through the IMG 2020.
Right click on the Dialogic object and select New Routing Configuration. The Routing Configuration is a parent or container object and no configuration is needed here. Refer to the topic for more information on this object.
Right click on Routing Configuration object and select New Channel Groups. The Channel Groups object is also a parent or container object and no configuration is needed here. Refer to the topic for more information on this object.
Right click on the Channel Groups object and select New Channel Group. Enter a name for this Channel Group and select SS7_ISUP from Signaling Type field drop down menu. In this procedure ChGrp_SS7_Spirou was entered. Refer to the topic for more information on configuring the SS7 Channel Group.
Right click on the Channel Group just created and select New Circuit Group. In the SS7_ISUP Channels object that appears, select the DS-1's and DS-0's that will be part of this circuit group. The available DS-1's and DS-0's are taken from the Circuit Group configured under the SS7 Network. Refer to topic for more information on configuring this topic.
Click on the Channel Groups object in the configuration tree again. The Channel Groups object will have a yellow exclamation point for the Icon which indicates the configuration has not been sent to the IMG 2020. Click on the Download Resource Tables button and the configuration will get sent.
Create Route Tables to Route Calls
At this point create Route Tables and Route Entries to route the calls to appropriate channel groups etc.

Additional Information
The IMG 2020 interworks the SIP INFO message into a SPIROU ITX message.
The IMG 2020 interworks the SPIROU ITX message into a SIP INFO message.
The IMG 2020 supports the C2 and C3 parameters in the body of the incoming SIP INFO(ITX) message format to appear in any order. (For example: C2 may appear first followed by C3, or vice versa).
For SS7-to-SIP, the IMG 2020 will generate the SIP INFO(ITX) message format with C2 first followed by C3 in the message body.
The IMG 2020 supports incoming SIP INFO(ITX) messages with Content-Length set as 13. In this message format, there are no trailing CR/LF characters at the end of the message body.
In SS7-to-SIP scenario, the IMG 2020 will generate the SIP INFO(ITX) message format with Content-Length set as 15 with the trailing CR/LF.
The IMG 2020 will not maintain any information related to the ITX message.
