Sangoma Meet V4.0 Release Note

Overview

This release brings many great features your customers will appreciate.  Major changes included in this release are:

Lobby Room

This feature allows attendees to join a video call prior to the meet time, but be placed into a waiting room until the moderator has arrived. This enables moderators to have full control of their meetings and deliver a great video experience. 

The moderator will be notified when a new guest is waiting in the lobby room. They can admit or reject this request:

The guest will be sent to a lobby room, waiting for the moderator to admit them:
 

Note: As we work towards enhancing this feature, the moderator will be required to join the call first in order to benefit from the lobby room option.

Free Users vs Paid Users

Sangoma Meet will always be offered as a free application, but with the release of V4.0, more advanced features will be available for our paid users. For more details, check this page.

More Ways to Sign up and Log in

We are making it even easier for you to use Sangoma Meet. You have now more options to sign up or log into Sangoma Meet:

• Use your Google or your Microsoft account to sign up and then log in to use Sangoma Meet.

• If you are a Star2Star customer or partner, you will be able to use your existing credentials to login and use Sangoma Meet. (Some conditions may apply).

• Use your existing Sangoma credentials to log in as before.

Calendar View (Integration with Google and Microsoft Calendars)

Have you ever thought about having a single place to see all your upcoming and past events? Sangoma Meet is now integrating with Google Calendar and Microsoft Calendar, which will give you this holistic view of recent and upcoming events. You can also schedule a meeting (add a meeting url) right from your calendar view. To join the meetings, simply click on the Meeting url to start the meeting.

New Look

Sangoma applications are all getting a facelift. Check out the fresh look along with some other great improvements when you are in a meeting. Main changes applied to:

• Manage Participants: You can access and manage your participants from the right panel. This will also allow you to admit or reject guests requests when the lobby room is enabled.

• Security Options: It is now moved under the “More Actions” three dots at the bottom of the screen.

• Recording is now moved under the  “More Actions” three dots where all other advanced functions are.

• Action Bar: All action bars are now grouped together for easier access and placed at the bottom of the screen:

Desktop App Improvements (Version 4.0)

We have also made significant improvements such as introducing a new user interface, lobby room and bug fixes to the MacOS and Windows desktop applications to deliver an optimal experience.
