IMG 1010 - Configure NFS on GCEMS Server

The IMG 1010/1004 runs an NFS client that is configured to retrieve files from the NFS server such as treatments to play announcements etc. This procedure explains how to configure the server to share treatment .vox/.wav files. There are other shares that can be created such as Call Tracing. They would all be configured similarly.

  • On GCEMS server open NFS as shown in screen capture below

  • Before the NFS client opens a screen will ask for the root user password. If server was purchased from Sangoma, or Red Hat installations instructions from this manual were followed, then the root password is the following:
    root password = excel2
    Otherwise you will need to acquire the root password to the server.

  • To add a new share, select the "+" Add button. Browse to directory that contains the .vox files. In the case of GCEMS server the path is
    /opt/dialogic/common/treatment/datafiles (Software Release 10.5.1 and above).
    /opt/cantata/common/treatment/datafiles (Software Release 10.3.x - 10.5.0)

  • Set Basic permissions to either Read-Only or Read/Write. Read/Write is not necessary but can be set for future use.

  • The Host(s) field is the IMG's IP address. Below are a few different ways of selecting multiple IMG's

    • Multiple IMG IP addresses can be added by putting a space between each address

    • Enter a wild card * will allow any IMG's

  • Click on the “General Options” tab. Accept the default value "Sync write operations on request."

  • Click on the "User Access" tab. Set as follows:
    Check the following boxes.

    • "Treat all client users as anonymous users"

    • "Specify local user ID for anonymous users"

    • "Specify local Group ID for anonymous user"

  • The User ID and Group ID are found by going to the Linux Red Hat start menu and selecting Systems and Settings > Users and Groups.

  • The User ID is displayed in the User ID Tab under the excelsw user. Enter that number.

  • The Group ID is displayed in the Group ID Tab under the excelsw user. Enter that number.

  • After pressing OK your entry should appear in the window. This utility restarts the NFS servers so there is no need to do anything else.

  • Right Click on the Logical IMG in ClientView and select New External Network Element.

  • Right Click on External Network Elements object pane and select New NFS Servers. Commit This

  • Right Click on NFS Servers object and select New NFS Server and the NFS server pane will appear. See Below.
