Description:

Within each separate object pane in the ClientView GUI are a set of buttons that each perform a separate task when selected. The buttons are located below the configuration pane on each of the separate objects as displayed below. The buttons explained below are buttons which are displayed in multiple ClientView Object Panes. There are also buttons that do specific functions such as "Switch Over" which will switch a Primary and Secondary role in SS7 Redundancy. These buttons are described in each of their own individual topics. Below is an explanation of some of the main buttons and what functions they provide.

Buttons:

A short description of each of the buttons is described below:

Create Tree:

The Create Tree button is a tool used to make configuring the IMG easier. Select an object in the ClientView Tree such as the Physical IMG object. When the Create Tree button is pressed it creates a tree of objects under the Physical IMG object. The objects created can then be individually configured. For example, when configuring a Physical IMG, select the "IMG Name" object and hit the Create Tree button. The ClientView GUI will now populate the tree with all the relevant objects needed to configure a Physical IMG in ClientView. Below is a screen capture of what objects are created when selecting "Create Tree" button in the Physical IMG object pane. From here the user can select each individual object and decide whether it will be utilized and how it needs to be configured.

Query All Tags:

The Query All Tags button should be used before restarting GCEMS. The Query All Tags button will query all the configuration tags in the IMG(s) and display in a pop up box whether they validate or not. Prior to selecting this button if the GCEMS was restarted and configuration tags were not set, then that particular component in the IMG would be re-configured. Selecting the OK button on the popup will set the tags for any component not set. If the tag validates and GCEMS is restarted (IMG remains powered up and configured) then that particular component in the IMG will not re-configure. By default, Comp 5 displays Comp:5 does not validate. This is OK, disregard this failure.

Validation Report:

After finishing the configuration process and the IMG is configured, the file created can be examined to see if there are any possible errors in the configuration. A report is created and loaded into /opt/dialogic/common/reports/ ValidationReport_< Timestamp> directory. The report will indicate any possible errors in the configuration. This report is often used to troubleshoot why the configuration file just created isn't working correctly. See IMG 1010 - Validating Your Configuration and IMG 1010 - Sample Validation Report for more information.

Help:

The "Help" button will open up the embedded help documentation. When pressed, the information that is retrieved is the information about the ClientView object being displayed in the ClientView Object Pane. For Example if SS7 stacks were selected in ClientView and the Help button was selected then the embedded help documentation will retrieve the SS7 Stack information from the ClientView Pane Reference section of the embedded help documentation. From here more information can be obtained by using the links in the documentation opened.

IMG Configuration Wizard:

The IMG Configuration Wizard button is another tool developed to aid the user when configuring an initial IMG. When the IMG Configuration button is pressed, the ClientView/GCEMS applications will inspect the current configuration and make a determination as to which object needs to be configured next. The wizard will then proceed to ask questions and proceed to help creating the configuration for the IMG. See the IMG 1010 - Configuration Wizard topic for more information.

Add IMG Wizard:

The Add IMG Wizard button was developed to assist the IMG User when adding a new IMG to an existing configuration. See the IMG 1010 - Configuration Wizard link for more information

Clear Software:

The Clear Software button clears the software from the IMG and forces a hard reset – equivalent to cycling the power. The IMG will continue to reset and then re-configure. This is generally used when upgrading software.

Download Raw File:

This button is used to download API messages that configure specific custom PPL’s. The API messages have to be included in a file named ' rawapi.cfg' that exists in the location /opt/dialogic/common/config on the GCEMS Server. If the messages in the file have a different logical node ID other than the physical IMG from which the button is pressed, the logical node ID will be overwritten. This allows sending the same file for multiple nodes without needing to modify its contents. If a message in the file is NACK'ed by the IMG, none of the messages are sent.

Graceful Out Of Service:

The Graceful Out Of Service button is used to first relieve the IMG of all its calls and allow the channels to go back to their idle state. As each of the  channels goes back to idle, they are then taken Out Of Service. This will continue until there are no longer any channels in service. Once all channels are Out Of Service and there are no longer any calls, the IMG can be reboot. Below is screen capture of Out Of Service Pop-Up.

Clear Logs:

The Clear Logs button is used to clear the log files from the /opt/dialogic/common/

MRTG Scripts:

The Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) is a tool to monitor various areas on network links. MRTG generates HTML pages containing PNG images which provide a live visual representation of this traffic. To generate MRTG logs, press the MRTG Scripts button. You can also update MRTG in the IMG 1010 - Channel Groups pane. See IMG 1010 - Overview of MRTG.

Update Status:

Used to update the reported status of the VoIP and TDM spans in the Object Table Tab.

SS7 Remote Node Info (10.3.x):

This button will display the RCOMM connection state. The RCOMM signaling is used as a communication device between IMG nodes. RCOMM send information between each of the nodes. One application for RCOMM is for remote SS7 applications where CIC's on a remote node are being controlled by a master node.
