Overview

This page details the significant user-facing changes made in version 8.0.3 of Switchvox.

New Features

Pause Resume Scheduled Recording from Sangoma P-Series Telephones

Beginning with version 8.0.3 of Switchvox and Sangoma P-Series telephone firmware 4_18_1, Scheduled Call Recordings that have the “Allow Recordings to be Paused” option set to On will affect P320, P325, P330, and P370 phones in a new way. Normally, these model Sangoma telephones will, if given a permission for call recordings, display a Record / Stop Record soft key during calls. With this new feature, the soft key will instead, as Switchvox notifies the telephone of the in-progress Scheduled Call Recording, change to a Pause / Resume soft key. The use of this key will then Pause and Resume the scheduled call recording from the P320, P325, P330 or P370 model telephone. This functionality mimics the functionality that is seen in the Sangoma Phone Desktop desktop computing soft client application.

Fax PDF Upload into User Web Tool

Beginning with version 8.0 of Switchvox, due to changes in authentication methods of modern internet printing libraries and incompatibilities with the Windows operating system, printing of documents to the IPP-capable Switchvox Fax printer, for the purposes of loading the document into Switchvox for later printing via the user web tool, has not been possible.

Switchvox version 8.0.3 provides new functionality that works around this limitation and improves the user experience for outbound faxing. Now, with version 8.0.3, Switchvox Users may log into their Switchvox Web tool and my, from the Web UI itself, upload their PDF-formatted documents directly into the Switchvox fax tool. This eliminates the need to setup a Switchvox Fax printer on the user’s computing device and allows for greater flexibility as any PDF-formatted document can now be faxed.

Once the document is loaded via the Web UI tool, it may be sent via Switchvox normal “enter the destination number for the fax” capabilities.
