Web GUI Overview

The Web GUI is a real-time web based Graphical User Interface used to configure, monitor, and provision the IMG 2020 depending on the role/permissions a user has been assigned. Roles and permissions are controlled by a system administrator using the Web GUI Multi User utility.

  • Configuration - Ability to graphically configure the IMG 2020 from initial setup to channel configuration. Changes can be applied to the connected nodes with simple point-and-click operations.

  • Monitoring - A real time view of the IMG 2020 which monitors hardware, alarm, and call processing status. High level real time alarms can be viewed without needing to reference or decode log files.

  • Provisioning - Real Time changes such as bringing DS-1's/DS-0's in and out of service, busying out components, and managing channel groups are a few of the provisioning attributes of the Web GUI. Refer to the screen capture below.

Individual Panes within the Web GUI

Configuration Tree (Left) - The configuration tree is located on the left side of the Web GUI. The Configuration Tree pane contains high level objects that can be configured. When clicking on one of the objects in the Configuration Tree the corresponding Configuration and Information and Provisioning and EventView Status Alarms panes open up and display lower level configuration information as well as some monitoring status. Refer to the  Web GUI screen capture displayed above.

Configuration and Information (Top Right) - The Configuration and Information panes display the properties and configuration information of the object selected in the Configuration Tree pane. Fields displayed in shaded green are fields that are automatically populated with information from the IMG 2020. Fields displayed in white are fields that need to be configured either by clicking in the field and entering information or selecting from drop down menus or pre-populated lists.

Provisioning and EventView Status Alarms (Bottom Right) - The information pane has three tabs labeled Object Table, Event View, and User Changes History View. These tabs are explained below.

  • Object Table - For objects that include entries (such as Translation Tables, VoIP Resources, and TDM DS-1's), this table displays the currently configured entries for the selected object. The contents vary depending on the object. By selecting and right clicking on an individual row from the table, provisioning of that individual function can be achieved. For example, by selecting an individual VoIP Resource the IP Resource can be Taken Out Of Service and eventually put back into service.

  • Event View - This view displays the system alarms. The alarms displayed are dependent on what event has occurred. For example if a span goes Out Of Service, Event View tab will display the Span Alarm along with other pertinent information such as time and severity of alarm. Refer to Event View topic for more information on the Event Viewer tab.

  • User Changes History View - This view keeps track and displays the history of configuration changes by user within the Web GUI, including adds, changes, and deletions of previous configurations, user name logins, and other operations performed by a specific user. This data can be exported for reporting purposes. Refer to EventView Properties topic for more information.
Tool Bar (Center) - Located in the center is the tool bar. Each individual ICON on the tool bar initiates different functionality. For more information on the individual functionality of each ICON refer to the Web GUI - Functionality topic.

  • IP Address (Top) - The IP Address bar displays the IP Address of the IMG 2020 node that the Web GUI is connected to. This is the IP address entered when first logging into the IMG 2020 through a web browser.

  • Status Bar (Bottom) - On the left side of the status bar at the bottom of the screen, the synchronization state of all nodes that are connected to the multi-node EMS is shown. If this is a direct connection, then the Node synchronization state is not shown. On the right side of the status bar, the number of modifications made to the configuration since the last save is shown.
