GCL Services
The Gateway Control Layer (GCL) Services object is created under the SS7 Network object. On the IMG 2020, services such as the Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) service and the CNAM database lookup service are configured under this object. The GCL Service object identifies a way to pass the SIP messaging to an SS7 stack configured for TCAP/SCCP. From here the message will be sent to a channel group configured to pass TCAP messaging.

Related Topics and Dependencies
The GCL Services object is first created under the SS7 Network object in the configuration tree. Under the GCL Services object, TCAP/SCCP services such as Message Waiting Indicator and CNAM database lookups can be created. Once the MWI and CNAM services are created, any SS7 Stacks configured with TCAP or SCCP enabled, can be selected from drop down menu in the MWI or CNAM services objects. The GCL Service object configures a way to pass SIP messaging to an SS7 stack. This SS7 stack will then be associated with a channel group that is communicating with an entity that is running either the MWI or CNAM service.
