IMG 1010 - ClientView Indicators

Configuration Fields (User Specified Column)

The following are the color indicators in 'User Specified' Column of the ClientView Configuration Pane. Once the ClientView Pane is configured and committed those values are transferred to the 'As-Configured' column just to the left.

Field Color

Description

Green

Indicates a field that is not applicable because of other options selected OR has been committed and is read-only (cannot be modified).

Orange

Indicates a field that has been modified but not committed. In this state the undo option is available.

Yellow

Indicates a field that is for informational purposes only and can not be configured.

Blue

Indicates a field that can be configured or modified. Some of the fields that are initially blue may change to green after the object has been committed.

Progress Indicator

The progress indicator window pops up between configuration of different objects.

  • Flashing Yellow/Orange - When a configuration is sent, the progress indicator flashes yellow/orange and provides text on what process is occurring.

  • Gray - When the progress indicator is gray, the configuration was successful.

  • Red - When the progress indicator is red, the configuration was unsuccessful. At this point you must either fix the problem with the configuration or delete the object.

Gatemanager Progress Indicator:

In the upper right corner of the ClientView screen is the Gatemanager Progress Indicator Icon. The Gatemanager Progress indicator Icon displays the following:

When the Gatemanager Progress Icon is green then there is no configuration being done to the IMG.

When the Gatemanager Progress Icon is yellow then the Gatemanager is in process of sending the configuration to the IMG. Expect delays and possible temporary loss of service.

When the Gatemanager Progress Icon is red then Gatemanager has stopped communicating. At this point Support Personnel should be called and they will proceed to troubleshoot why this happened.

In software 10.5.0 the icons look like the above screen capture. For 10.3.3 software the icons look like the above screen capture but the small computer within the box is not present. All colors are the same in 10.5.0 and 10.3.3

Object State Icons

The following icons appear to indicate various object states.

Icon

Description

This is the initial state before you commit a configuration.

These icons indicate that the IMG is in the process of performing the requested configuration. Distinctions between the icons are for Customer Support use. Contact Customer Support if the object fails to transition to a configured state.

ClientView is attempting to connect to the IMG.

The object is in a cached state. See Cached Objects below to see a list of objects that may get into this state, their parent object, and how to get an object out of the cached state.

The object has been successfully configured.

An error has occurred during the configuration of this object. Check the Object Status tab at the bottom of the screen for error log.

A license validation has failed. Make sure you have the required license and that it is configured on the IMG. See IMG 1010 - Downloading a License and the IMG 1010 - License Info pane.

The hardware has failed.

ClientView/GCEMS is not currently connected to the node or the node is temporarily frozen (approximately 1 minute) while a new IMG node is being added to the GCEMS.

In N+1 the Redundant Node Cluster is in Normal State which means the Primary IMG's are all active and the Backup IMG's are all Standbys. (Cluster State = Standby, Backup State = Standby, Actively Backing Up = None)

In N+1 the Redundant Node Cluster; one of the Primary units has failed and its Redundancy State is Offline. The Backup node has Switched Over and is now being utilized as an Active node. (Cluster State = Switched Over, Backup State = Active , Actively Backing Up = Interface 'x')

Cached Objects

The objects in a table are cached in ClientView until the user completes all configuration changes for that table and exits that table. This allows the user to make several changes and then send all of the changes to the IMG at once.  This is accomplished by selecting an object off the child object being created or modified. When modifying tables selecting the Commit button will not send the new configuration to the IMG. To send the changes to the IMG the user must select the parent object or higher. In the example below a change has been made to a route table. This change is only downloaded to the IMG if the user selects the Routing Tables object or another object outside of the Routing Tables.

The objects in the table below are stored in cache. The Cached State icon appears in the ClientView tree when an object is in this state.
