Panes:

The following panes appear in the main window.

  • Configuration Tree (Top-Left)- This pane contains the items that can be configured. You can right-click an item to access additional configuration items. Creating an entry in the Configuration Tree opens the corresponding Configuration Pane (top right).

  • Configuration Pane (Top-Right)- This pane shows the properties of the selected object. You can use this pane to view and edit your configuration. The column entitled 'As Configured' shows the current configuration when connected to an IMG. You enter or edit values in the User-Specified column.

  • Status Pane (Lower-Right)- This pane shows status information for the item selected. The contents vary depending on the item. If you select a row in the status table, the configuration pane for that entry appears in the top right pane.

  • Client/Server Monitor Pane (Lower-Left)- This pane shows the level of activity between ClientView and the IMG.

  • Embedded Help Pane (10.5.x)- The embedded help pane was added to ClientView to help with the configuration of the IMG. Each embedded help pane has the following:

    •  Brief Description of object in ClientView selected.

    •  Max number of times that object can be created in one ClientView EMS Pane

    •  Related Topics which when selected will link you to documents in the Online Manual that will help in the configuration etc. of the selected object.

Embeded Help Pane:

For convenience an additional feature was added in software version 10.5.2 to the embedded help which allows a user to open and close the embedded help pane in ClientView. By default when ClientView is first installed, the embedded help pane is open. The user has the ability to access the white embedded help pane between the configurable pane and the Object Table.

The feature added to the embedded help pane allows the user to shut the embedded help pane. This allows ClientView more real estate on the GUI to display the Configurable Pane and the Object Table. To close the embedded help pane go to the Main Menu and select Help -> Embedded WebHelp as shown below.

By un-checking the Embedded WebHelp box the Embedded Webhelp will close and allow more viewable area for the configuration and Object Table screens.

Additional Information:

  • The Embedded WebHelp selection will open or close all the embedded help panes at once. You cannot have an embedded help pane open for one object and closed for another.

  • The Embedded help pane will "remember" which state it was in. If ClientView is closed and then reopened, the embedded help pane will "remember" the state it was in before ClientView was closed.

  • You can drag the Embedded Help Pane up or down when it is closed. Select the bottom bar of WebHelp Pane and drag it up or down.

Changing Pane Display

If you want to display only the top or bottom pane, you can click the corresponding arrow button on the bar between the upper pane and the lower pane. These arrow buttons also display vertically to allow you to manipulate the display of the left and right panes.
