When should I use these instructions?

Fonality maintains all current configuration data for all of your Connect IP phones including all required information to register your phones to the Connect service as well as extension specific information such as extension number and display name.

You should only follow these configuration instructions if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Your IP phones are not able to register to the Fonality Connect service due to missing or incorrect or modified IP phone configuration settings.

  • You have changed the extension number of an IP phone but restarting the phone does not update the information on the phone itself.

  • You have updated the name associated with an extension through the Admin Panel, but restarting the phone does not update the name displayed on the IP phone's screen.

  • You have updated the BLF settings for an extension but the softkeys on your phone do not reflect the changes after rebooting the device.

How do I update my IP phone configuration?

In order to reconfigure your IP phone, you will need to know your FTP password in order to download the configuration files for your Connect service.

You can obtain your IP Phone's FTP password by creating a support ticket in your web admin panel
