Before you are able to place and receive calls from your IP phone, you must fist setup and personalize your extension.

Access your Fonality Admin Panel

Access the Fonality Admin Panel by navigating to:
http://cp.fonality.com/

Enter your the admin username and password you received with your installation email.  

If you do not know your password, click the "Forgot your username or password?" link at the bottom of the login screen and enter the email address you used when you ordered Fonality Connect.

Extension Setup

Once you login to your admin panel, first move your mouse over to Users / Extensions and clicking on extension status to access the Extensions page.

The Extensions page lists all of your extensions you currently have with your Fonality Connect service.   Choose which extension from the left side to setup.  

 

Extension Details

After choosing an extension, enter the required information and save the settings by pressing the Update Extension button.

The following fields are necessary to setup an extension:

First Name / Last Name
This will be the full name of the person who will be using the extension.

Web Username
The web username is a separate login for the web control panel to allow changing extension specific settings such as Follow Me, Call Forwarding, and Voicemail.  

You can use the default ServerID_Extension username format.

Web Password
This password must contain at least 7 characters and have an upper and lower case letter as well as a number.   

Voicemail Password
The voicemail password used for retrieving voicemail messages for the extension.  If you do not wish to use voicemail with your extension, you may select no next to Voicemail Enabled.
Your voicemail password must contain at least 4 digits and can be only numbers.

 

Add an extension to an existing user

Using the Admin Panel, access the Users / Extensions -> view users page.

Click on the user/extension you wish to modify, then click "Add extension" at the bottom of the page.

Fill out the required Extension Details (see previous section, above) and enter the extension number you would like to use under the Extension details.

You will also need to assign the IP phone that will be used for this extension.

 

Once all the information has been complete press the Add User and Extension button.

 

Change Extension Number

If you want to use a different number for your extension, you will first need to delete the unused extension number.  However, be aware that this will erase that user's settings.

Using the Admin Panel, access the Users / Extensions -> view users page.

Select the (red X) icon to delete the extension you no longer wish to use.

 

To create a new extension, navigate to the User / Extensions -> add user page.

Choose the second option: I want to add a new user and a new extension.

 

 

Fill out the required information (see the Extension Details section, above) and enter the extension number you would like to use under the Primary Extension details.

You will also need to assign the IP phone that will be used for this extension.

 

Once all the information has been complete press the Add User and Extension button.

 

Deleting Extensions and Users

Individual extensions (non-primary) may also be deleted by clicking the "+" to the left of a user, then clicking the  (red X) icon for that particular extension.

If need be, one can also delete an entire user (beware: there is no undo) by selecting the(red X) icon to delete the user one wishes to remove.  This will typically free up a license, and allow you to create a new user.
