IMG 1010 - Using ClientView
Â
Â
The procedure below assumes that ClientView has already been opened previously and had been previously configured. Configuration files such as system.cfg and default.csa will already exist in /opt/dialogic/common/config directory. Since these files already exist, ClientView application will ask if "you would like to load an existing configuration, use Wizard to create a new configuration or Cancel into ClientView" select appropriately. See Below
Logging in to ClientView
When ClientView is launched, the Client Socket dialog appears. See IMG 1010 - Starting ClientView link for information on logging into ClientView.
After entering the Username and Password a screen will appear asking whether you would like to load an existing configuration. Select the correct box for your application. See Below
Enter a value in theHost Name or IP Address field. This is the IP Address of the Control port of the IMG to which you are connecting. If ClientView is running on the same server as the GCEMS, then you can leave the default "localhost".
Login History
ClientView will maintain entries in the Host Name/IP Address and Username fields so that you can easily select them from a drop-down list. By default, 5 Host Names and 5 Usernames will be retained in the history. You can change these values using the Application Properties pane. See IMG 1010 - ClientView Properties.
Creating a Configuration File
A default configuration file called "default" is created when ClientView connects to Data Manager. To save the configuration file with a new name:
Click Configuration default in the Configuration Tree.
Enter a new name in the Filename field of the Configuration default pane.
Opening a Saved File
To open this configuration going forward:
Select File -> Open and Commit Configuration File.
The available configuration files are listed with their last date of modification. You can sort files by name or date. Select the desired configuration file.
 Â
When a configuration file is opened, all nodes that are part of that configuration will be reset and re-configured.
Saving a Config File through a Software Upgrade
To continue using a configuration file when you upgrade the IMG software do the following:
Save the *.csa file configuration file in the config folder to another folder.
After upgrading, copy the *csa file back to the config folder.
Start ClientView and select File- Open and Commit Configuration File and select the *.csa file.
The configuration panes can be accessed via the tree in the left pane by right-clicking on existing items and selecting further configuration options from the list. When creating a new configuration entry, the configuration pane appears in the left pane. Enter the values in the User-Specified column.
Committing an Object
After configuring a specific object within ClientView, the objects must be "committed" to allow the object to configure the IMG. To Commit an object, Right-click on the entry in the Configuration Tree and select Commit -or- simply select any other object in the tree.Â
Additional Information:
The configuration panes can be accessed via the tree in the left pane by right-clicking on existing items and selecting further configuration options from the list.
When creating a new configuration entry, the configuration pane appears in the left pane. You can enter values in the User-Specified column.
IMG Network-wide objects such as Routing Configuration and External Network Elements are accessed under IMG EMS.
Objects configured for individual IMG(s) (Facilities, Signaling) can be accessed under the Physical IMG entry you created.
For some objects (such as Routing Tables), you first create a container object (Routing Tables) and then you can add actual Route Tables.
To de-select an item in a drop-down list, press <Ctrl> key on keyboard and click on the item.
The last entry in each tree is the Object ID and Position information for internal use and does not result in any action if you select it.
