The following can cause audible alarms to emit from the AA355 PBX:
Power supplies/power cables
Memory
CPU Overheat/Fan Fail LED and Control
Power Supplies:
If either of the power cables are not properly seated into the power supplies an alarm will continually emit until the power cables are properly connected. This alarm is described as one long continuous beep .
If the power supplies themselves are not fully inserted into the unit, this will also cause an audible alarm to emit until the power supplies are fully inserted.
Troubleshooting the power supplies:
Remove and reset power supplies, make sure they are locked in place
Replace power cables
Try different power outlets, surge protectors, etc.
Memory:
If the memory is missing, faulty or not inserted correctly, the system will emit an alarm. This alarm is described as a one long beep then a short pause and will repeat this cycle until the issue is fixed.
Troubleshooting the memory :
Make sure that the DIMM modules are properly installed and fully seated in the slots.
Check for bad DIMM modules or slots by swapping modules between slots and noting the results.
You should be using unbuffered, ECC/Non-ECC DDR2-677/533 memory (seethe next page). Also, it is recommended that you use the same memory speed for all DIMMs in the system.
Try different RAM (if possible)
Try RAM in new system (if possible)
Could also try running the Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD) memory test.
HDD Fan:
This fan is located on the back of the HDD bay. If this fan is faulty, there will be a red light on the front of the AA355 behind the doors on the bottom right corner. This light is under the HD lights. This alarm is described as 4 beeps than a pause.
Troubleshooting the HDD fan:
Make sure the HDD fan power cable is properly connected to the board.
If fan is not spinning, call for RMA (if under hardware warranty).
