Announcements - Create a Treatment Table

The procedure below describes the steps needed to create a Treatment Table. A Treatment Table is a table of treatment entries. Each Treatment entry is comprised of one or more announcement phrases that form a phrase. Refer to the diagram below.

With versions previous to Release 2.3, the Announcements object was found under Node/Enhanced Services.

Before the table above can be recognized, the announcements need to be retrieved from either an NFS Server or SD Card, and downloaded to the IMG 2020. For information on downloading the announcements to the IMG 2020, refer to the links below:

Create Treatment Table, Treatment Elements, and Treatment Phrases

Create and Configure Treatment Table

  • Right click on the Routing Configuration object and select New Treatment Tables. The Treatment Tables object is a parent or container object and no configuration is needed here. Refer to the Treatment Tables topic information on this object.

  • Right click on the Treatment Tables object and select New Treatment Table. Either accept the default name displayed in the Name field or enter a new name that describes the treatment table being created. In this example, the default name Treatment_Table_1 was accepted. Refer to the Treatment Table topic for more information on this object.

Create and Configure a Treatment Element

Create one or more Treatment Element objects. The Treatment Element object is created to describe the Treatment being configured, give the treatment an ID, and to configure the number of times to play the treatment when called upon. Follow instructions below to configure the Treatment Element and associated treatment phrases.

  • Right click on the Treatment Table object and select New Treatment Element. This will be the first entry in the new treatment table created above. In the Description field, enter a description that identifies the treatment element being created. In this example Call Did Not Go Through was entered for a description. Refer to the Treatment Element topic for more information on configuring this object.

  • Right click on the Treatment Element object just created and select New Treatment Phrase. In the Type field, select Announcement from drop down menu.

  • In the Announcement Entry field, select the Announcement Entry by ID. This will be the announcement that will be played when this Treatment Element is configured in the routing and service routing tables. In this example the phrase We're sorry your call did no go through was selected as the first phrase under the Treatment Table Element object. Refer to the  screen capture below.

  • Right click on the Treatment Element object again and select New Treatment Phrase. Select Announcement from the Type field and select a second Announcement Entry from the Announcement Entry field. In this example the second phrase selected is Please hang up and try later was selected.

  • Click back on the Treatment Table object created above. The ICON will now be displaying a Yellow exclamation point indicating the treatment configuration needs to be sent to the IMG 2020. Click on the Download Treatment Table button and the configuration will be sent.

At this point there is a Treatment Element under Treatment_Table_1. Under the Treatment Element are two Treatment Phrases that when played will play We're sorry your call did not go through, please hang up and try later. This treatment element can be configured to be called from a channel group for either branding or Pre-Call Announcements detection. For an example of the Pre Call Announcements/Error Detection, refer to the IMG 1010 - Configuring Pre-call Announcements topic.

Configure Treatment Table to Play Tones

The second section below describes how to configure a Treatment Table to play a tone such as a Busy signal or Vacant Code. These tones are already embedded in the IMG 2020 and do not need to be previously downloaded to be able to play them. Follow instructions below.

Create and Configure Treatment Table as a Tone

  • If not already created, right click on the Treatment Tables object and select New Treatment Table. Enter a name that describes the treatment table being created. In this example, the default Name Treatment_Table_2 will be accepted. Refer to the Treatment Table topic for more information on this object.

  • Right click on the Treatment Table object and select New Treatment Element. In the Description field, enter a description that identifies the Treatment Element being created. In this example Play Reorder tone three times was entered for a description.

  • Change the Cycles to play Treatment field to 3. See screen capture below. Refer to the Treatment Element topic for more information on configuring this object.

  • Right click on the Treatment Element just created and select New Treatment Phrase. Select Tone from the Type field and select Reorder from the Phrase field just below it. Modify the Cycles to Play Tone field to 1 since we only want to play the treatment three times and not the individual tone three times. Refer to the Treatment Phrase topic for more information on configuring this object.

  • Click back on the Treatment Table object again. The ICON will now be displaying a Yellow exclamation point indicating the treatment configuration needs to be sent to the IMG 2020. Click on the Download Treatment Table button and the configuration will be sent. The Reorder tone can now be played when called to play.
