After you have followed the instructions from: How do I activate my G729 license to use in the Switchvox software? You may want to enable G729 only for specific extensions you want to use it on. This guide will walk you through doing so.
To enable this for a single Extensions:
Log into your administrative portal
Got to Setup > manage > Select the extetions and hit the Modify options
Access the Phone feature settings Tab
From here if enabling on a Digium Phone go to the Digium Phones tab > Open Advanced Phone options > Scroll down to the Codec Settings Section. Click the Green check mark to enable the G729 codec. If you want the system to try and use G729 first move it to the top of this list. If you only want it to use G729 disable the other options.
For a Polycom or other supported phone go to the Other manufactures Tab > Open the Advanced phone options drop down> G729 will appear last in the Audio codec list if it has been installed. toggle the slider to enabled. If you only want to use G729 on this phone set all other sliders to No to disable them. Other wise it will use what ever Codec pack the call came in from the provider on that has the least system overhead to encode.
Save these setings. At this point a digium phone will show updating configuration. This is all that should need to be done to enable it for this phone.
If setting up multiple phones use one should use the bulk modify options listed below:
Setup > Manage > click the Bulk modify Icon
Enter the Extentions you want to apply this change to in the Phone extentions Field
Under the Phone-Extension Fields select the Phone settings Tab
If setting this on Digium phones Select the Digium phones tab and in the Drop down select Audio Codecs then hit the Next button. Hit the green check mark to enable the G729 codec.If you want the system to try and use G729 first move it to the top of this list. If you only want it to use G729 disable the other options
For other phone manufactures go to the other phone manufactures Tab. Then in the drop down select the Audio & Video Codec options. Then hit next. Toggle the G729 option to Yes.toggle the slider to enabled. If you only want to use G729 on this phone set all other sliders to No to disable them. Other wise it will use what ever Codec pack the call came in from the provider on that has the least system overhead to encode
Click save modification and it will save to all extentions in the Phone Extensions list.
