How do I set up a paging extension?

To set up a paging extension follow these steps: 

1. Click Setup-> Manage.

2. Click the Create Extension button

3. In the Extension Type drop down box select Intercom/Paging

4. Click the Create Extension button.

5. Assign an extension number in the Extension box

6. Do not change the Alert-Info Header. This has to stay the value that it is set at.

7. Select the time out time for the extension. (this is the max time the page will be active for)

8. In the Authorized Extensions section click the extension button.

9. Click the magnifying glass icon and select all the extensions you would like to be able to call the paging extension and make the announcement. You can select multiple extension by pressing and holding the control key. 

10. In the Recipients section click Extensions and add all of the extensions that you would like the page to activate and play the page.

11. Click the Save Intercom/Paging Extension button.

Now we have to give the extensions that will make the page permission to use the paging extension. 

1. Click Setup->Permissions

2. Click the Create Extension Permission Mapping button.

3. In the Permission holders section click the Extensions button.

4. Click the magnifying glass icon to add the extensions that you need to be able to activate a paging call.

5. In the Permission Targets section click the Extensions button.

6. Click the magnifying glass icon and select the paging extension number.

7. In the Permissions section turn off all permissions except for Permission holders can use Intercom to contact target.

8. Click Save Extension Permission Mapping

If you follow these steps you will be able to make paging calls to any of the phones selected on the Switchvox.
