Analog Phone.A regular phone (not VoIP/SIP) that is physically plugged in to the Switchvox server. This is an appropriate extension-type for a fax machine or an intercom.

 

NOTE:We strongly recommend you do not use this option for your phone extensions. Use instead analog telephone adapters, or a channel bank. If you choose to use Analog Phone extensions with phones physically plugged into Switchvox, those phones will not be able to take full advantage of the Switchvox features.

ATA 

  1. Go to Server → Extensions → Manage 

  2. Create extension : Extension Type : SIP Phone or SIP Adapter for Analog Phone

  3. Phone Settings → Common Settings

  4. Phone Password:  This is the SIP registration password that your phone uses for Registration with Switchvox

  5. Save Extension

  6. Configure your ATA device (See here for instructions on Lynksys PAP2t ATA device) 

Connecting an analog phone using an FXS Module

  1. First check that the power molex is connected to the TDM card for the FXS modules to receive power

  2. The FXS modules should be recognized in the Telephony Card section

    1. Go to Server →Maintenance → Telephony Cards

    2. Modify 

    3. Your FXS modules should be detected here

  3. Then create the FXS channel group 

  4. Select FXS with Kewlstart Signaling

  5. See here for instruction on how to set up Automatic Forward

  6. Create an Extension for the Analog phone

  7. Go to Setup→ Extensions → Manage

  8. Create Extension → Extension Type : Analog Phone

  9. Map phone to the corresponding port. See Step 2 to determine which port your analog phone is connected to or physically inspect by looking at the ports on the back of the PBX.
