General Settings

  • Extension Length. Select 3, 4, 5, or 6 digits. This is the length of the extensions in Switchvox. Changing this number does not change existing extensions. NOTE: If you specify an extension length that is longer than some existing extensions, there may be a slight delay in internal dialing. For example, if you call a 3-digit extension, Switchvox waits a moment before connecting the call, to see if you are going to dial a fourth digit (or fifth or sixth).

  • Beep after an assisted transferYES indicates you want to play a beep sound when an assisted transfer is done. For example: Jill puts Jack on hold then calls Jane, and asks her if she can speak with Jack. Jane agrees, and Jill transfers Jack to Jane. When the transfer is complete the beep is played, Jill is off the call, and Jack and Jane are on the call and can begin talking.

  • Enable Chat in Client Apps. YES indicates that you want phone-users to have the chat feature in the desktop softphone and Switchvox Chat for mobile. If you set this to NO, none of the chat or SMS features are available to your users in those apps.

  • For Switchvox Cloud customers with Advanced User subscriptions:

External Authentication

Beginning with Switchvox release 6.6, organizations using a directory service such as Active Directory can set up Switchvox so its phone-users can authenticate (log in) with their username and password from that directory service by selecting the LDAP user authorization type. For details, see Switchvox with Active Directory and LDAP.

Sangoma Connect Mobile Settings

  • Use these network settings to control how your Sangoma Connect Mobile users connect to Switchvox via an SBC.

  • Use the  Emergency Numbers field to dictate emergency numbers that, when dialed in Sangoma Connect, will dial out via the mobile phone itself, rather than placing the call through Switchvox. If there are multiple numbers to be dialed this way, use a comma between each of them.

  • Use the button to "Refresh Connection to Sangoma Cloud" with the assistance of Sangoma Technical Support, if you are having trouble configuring Sangoma Connect for your users.
