What is the Time Groups module used for?
The Time Groups Module is used to define periods of time that can then be selected in the Time Conditions module or Outbound Routes module.
For example, you might create a Time Group called "Lunch" that might start at 12:00 p.m and end at 1:00 p.m. You could then create a Time Condition that would use the Lunch Time Group to send calls to voicemail during lunch, and to a ring group at other times.
You might also create a Time Group called "Holidays" that defines all the major U.S. holidays. You could then create a Time Condition that would use the Holidays Time Group to send calls to the receptionist during non-holidays and to a voicemail recording on holidays.
You might create a time group called "Business Hours" that defines your normal office hours. Then, you could prevent employees from making international outbound calls outside these hours.
How is the Time Groups module related to the other modules?
The Time Groups Module is directly related to the Time Conditions Module, because a time condition compares system time to the time(s) defined in the time group. A time group must be set up first. The Time Conditions module allows the selection of a time group from a drop-down menu.
The Time Groups module is also related to the Outbound Routes module. In the Outbound Routes module, you can restrict outbound calling to certain time periods by selecting a time group, if desired.
