What is StarReporter™?

StarReporter™ is package of 14 enhanced call detail record reports for the Star2Star™ Voice Optimized SDWAN.

These reports were created from the common customer requests for reporting metrics. They are intended to provide valuable, digestible business analytics to Star2Star customers for an additional monthly recurring charge.

How is StarReporter™ different than StarView™ forStarCenter® 2.0?

StarView™ for StarCenter® 2.0, as the name suggests, is only for StarCenter® 2.0 and contains advance reports and live monitoring for an inbound call center environment.

StarReporter™, on the other hand, contains non-StarCenter® Call Detail Record data derived from Business Voice locations and locations with StarBoxes®. This includes call duration, extension, ring group and non-StarCenter® queue data.

What StarReporter™ Is Not

StarReporter™ is not designed to provide for reconciliation of your Star2Star bill. Although billing data is derived from a subset of the call detail records found in StarReporter™, call records used to charge Star2Star customers are filtered with specific flags and scrubbed to bill appropriately.

For example, billing might filter out all local extension-to-extension calls because it only charges for calls that originated or ended at external phone numbers.

Prerequisites

These reports will only be available for Business Voice and Business Voice Plus locations for a monthly recurring charge of $4.99 per user per month.

Access

Requirements are as follows:

  1. Business Voice location enabled with StarReporter

  2. StarBox® Voice Optimized SD-WAN location (running CCM 2.x or later)

  3. Customers must have “StarReporter” enabled by a Star2Star Admin

Permission Levels

  • Sangoma Admins - Sangoma admins can see all the “Call Detail” reports IF at least one location at the company is on StarBox™ Voice Optimized SDWAN firmware version 2.0 or newer. Even if “StarReporter™” is not enabled in the portal add-on manager. This will allow internal teams such as Sales and Presales Engineering to give customer demos if the candidate has CCM 2.0.

  • Dealers - Dealers can see their customers’ information if (a) the customer is on Cloud Connection Manager 2.x or greater and (b) the customer has “StarReporter™” enabled in the portal. This is so dealers/partners can be the first line of support for their customers and provide Star2Star TSG with more information and example reports if needed in troubleshooting.

  • Customer Admins - Customer admins are able to see the reports for the entire organization.

  • Location Admins - Limit this to the location to which the user was a location(s) admin.

  • None - No StarReporter™ access

  • “Portal Access” check box - For all of the permission levels above each user still must have the Portal Access flag checked on in User Manager. The user can be disabled by unchecking this flag.

How to View StarReporter™?

StarReporter™ is available by navigating to https://reports.star2star.io from a web browser.

  • Location Summary - This shows high level details like total calls, answered calls, missed calls, inbound calls, outbound calls, total time, average time, etc. at a location level for one or more locations. This report is useful for managers and owners that want to know general call volume.

  • Location Detail - This displays all of the call details for one or more locations and only includes the call detail records from the StarBox® Voice Optimized SD-WAN. From a business perspective, this report is useful if looking for specific call information or to mine and archive call detail information.

  • Missed Calls - Displays the call detail records of any missed or no answer calls, inbound, outbound and internal calls.

  • Answered Calls - Displays the calls that have been answered - both inbound and outbound.

  • Inbound Calls - This report shows all inbound details for non-StarCenter® calls. This report is useful for customers that want to track minimal inbound details like a call center without our StarCenter® product.

  • Outbound Calls - This report shows all outbound call details. It is useful for organizations that want to track their sales team’s outbound call volume.

  • Internal Calls – This report shows all internal call details. It is useful for organizations to see the call consumption of their users internally at a given location or across multiple locations.

  • Extension Summary - Shows totals and averages by extension.

  • Extension Detail - Shows extension-level call details.

  • Ring Group - Ring groups can show up differently in call details than in other extensions due to the configuration options. This report displays Ring Group call detail data only.

  • Fax by Location - Similar to Ring Groups, Fax data is unique. This report shows StarFax Personal™ and StarFax Classic™ detail records.

  • DID Summary - The DID summary report shows you which phone numbers are called most and least frequently. This report is often used to see which marketing campaigns are more successful than others.

  • DID Detail - The DID detail report displays the full call duration for any external calls to or from someone in your organization.

  • Ring-All Queue – This report shows call details for calls (all types) that enter or exit a Ring – All Queue.

Scheduled Reporting

Like StarView for StarCenter® 2.0, StarReporter™ has scheduled reporting built-in.

To schedule a report, visit the report run page and click on the “Action” button, then click “Schedule report”.  A modal will display as seen below with the following options:

  • Report Name - Enter a uniquely identifiable name for your report. This will be the subject line of the email you receive.

  • Email To - Comma delimited list of email addresses you want to send this report to.

  • Format

XLS - To Open with Microsoft Excel or to add filters, charts or macros, please note that this is exported as a .xlsx file in csv format and will need to be saved as a Microsoft Excel Workbook before advanced functions such as Pivot Table Charts can be used.

CSV - Better than XLS for very large reports due to smaller size and memory consumption.

XML - A great option for import into MS Access

HTML - Use this option if you want to view it in your browser or publish to a web page

JSON - A good option for use in NoSQL solution
