Overview
We are excited to announce that Sangoma Meet Version 5.2 is now available
This release includes following additional great features and enhancements:
Important Note: Recently, new improvements were made to Sangoma Meet in order to improve user experience based on subscription plans. Four tiers have been created and tied to subscription plans: Free, Standard, Advanced and Premium. Features are now tailored per tier, and users will have a customized experience based on their user account type, as subscribed. These changes were introduced in Sangoma Meet Version 5.2 and will continue in versions thereafter. Click here to know more.
New Features
Remote Control on desktop application
Users can grant remote control to other participants using the desktop application, allowing them to control their system.
Note: This feature is only available on the Desktop Application.
Claiming Moderator Privileges
Prior to version 5.2, the first user (signed-in) to join a meeting would automatically become the moderator, even if they were not the user who scheduled the meeting. This scenario becomes problematic as moderator privileges would be restricted to that first attendee.
Introduced in version 5.2, the user who schedules the meeting will be the moderator of that meeting, regardless if they are the first or last user to join.
If no moderator joins the meeting, any signed-in user can become the moderator by clicking the claim meeting button, as seen in the below picture of a signed-in user who has joined the call.
Please refer to this document to know more about the claim functionality for subscription-based users as this can affect some of the past scheduled meetings.
Switchvox users can now login directly from meet.sangoma.com
Switchvox users who are subscribed to the advanced service plan can now use Sangoma Meet from the meet.sangoma.com website with full privileges. When signing in, simply click on the Switchvox button, as seen on the below picture.

Other Improvements:
Screen sharing improvements: Minor bugs have been fixed to rectify sporadic screen sharing issues.
Enhanced Unified Login: On 8th May 2023, we will discontinue logging into Sangoma Meet using the Legacy Sangoma Identity page. Users should sign in using other options displayed on the Sangoma Meet Login screen.
Continuity Camera: Use iPhone as a webcam for Mac
Utilize your iPhone's robust camera system to perform tasks that were previously Unavailable with a webcam, such as Center Stage, Portrait mode, Studio Light, and Desk View.

Note: This functionality is developed by Apple Inc. and can be used on Sangoma Meet.
Bug Fixes:
Record button on the top pane has been fixed while the meeting is running. The record button was unresponsive earlier.
Clicking on the invite link in the "invite more people" tab was causing the current meeting to either end or restart. This issue has been resolved.
Previously, clicking on the "Cancel" button on the "Waiting for the host" page would incorrectly redirect users to a static close page instead of the intended embedded "thank you" page. This issue has been resolved and the "Cancel" button now redirects users to the correct page.
Known Issues:
The Claim meeting option is not working for users who are logged in via the Switchvox option as shown below
Incorrect meeting limitation notification for some paid users (Standard, Advanced or Premium).
“Start a new Meeting” notification is not removed for the free users once the meeting has been claimed by a paid user. Users can click on the “Dismiss” button adjacent to the “Start a new meeting” button. This will not affect the running meeting.
Meeting Limitation for the users who joined before the moderator is not being removed once the meeting is claimed by a paid user.
