IMG 2020
The RADIUS Client object is used to configure the IMG 2020 to function as a client of a RADIUS Server. To create the RADIUS Client, right click on the IMG 2020 object and select New Radius Client. Once configured, the IMG 2020 will send VSA's back and forth to the RADIUS Server that the IMG 2020 is configured to communicate with. One RADIUS Client object can be created per IMG 2020 since the IMG 2020 is the RADIUS Client.

Field Description
Radius Client Network Interface
The RADIUS Client Network Interface field is a drop down list displaying the IP addresses of each of the Ethernet interfaces configured on the rear of the IMG 2020. These interfaces will be used to communicate with an external RADIUS server. When configuring the IP Address object the selections in the drop down menu of the Physical Interface field were either Services or Media 0. If Media 0 was selected, then the IP address entered WILL NOT be displayed in the RADIUS Client Network Interface object. If Services was selected as the Physical Interface then the IP address entered WILL be displayed in the RADIUS Client Network Interface object. Also, the IP address of the CTRL interface on rear of IMG 2020 configured through DHCP will also be displayed in the drop down menu. Select which interface/IP Address will be used to communicate with the RADIUS Server.
Authentication Port (Default 1812)
When the IMG 2020 communicates with an external RADIUS Server, it communicates through an IP address and a port number. When communicating with an external RADIUS Server which is configured as an Authentication Server then the port number on the IMG 2020 must match the port configured on the RADIUS Authentication Server. As per RFC 2865 the default authentication port is port 1812. This can be modified by clicking in the Authentication Port field and entering a different port number.
Accounting Port (Default 1813)
When the IMG 2020 communicates with an external RADIUS Server, it communicates through an IP address and a port number. When communicating with an external RADIUS Server which is configured as an Accounting Server then the port number on the IMG 2020 must match the port configured on the RADIUS Accounting Server. As per RFC 2866 the default accounting port is port 1813. This can be modified by clicking in the Accounting Port field and entering a different port number.
RADIUS Server Debug Mode
Off (Default)Â - If Radius is configured and the external RADIUS server becomes unavailable, the IMG 2020 will not process incoming calls. This is most typically found when the IMG 2020 is used to create CDR's. Since the absence of a RADIUS server results in unbillable calls, the IMG 2020 has been designed to not process calls when RADIUS is enabled. Â If this occurs the IMG 2020 will reject calls to the network with the following cause values:
ISDN - Cause 41 - Temporary failure Â
SS7 - Cause 41 - Temporary failure
SIP - 503 - Service Unavailable
On - When Debug Mode is On, calls will be completed whether the RADIUS server is active or not. The IMG 2020 will not require authentication from the RADIUS server to complete a call. Debug mode set to On is most typical when using RADIUS for debugging purposes such as tracking call failures, cause codes, while continuing to process calls. Billing information may or may not be logged depending on the state of the RADIUS server.
Prepaid Support
Disabled (default) - The IMG 2020 will ignore data received in Radius Authentication Response messages.
Enable - The IMG 2020 will act on data received in RADIUS Authentication Response messages that the Radius Server may send pertaining to prepaid application. This will allow the IMG 2020 to be used in a prepaid application environment.
Radius Prepaid Support Mode will be automatically set to disabled if Radius Debug Mode is set to enabled. The two modes cannot be enabled at the same time.
RADIUS Time Format
The RADIUS Time format field allows user to decide which format to use in the CDR attributes that include time.
Legacy Format (Default)Â - This is the format used before the availability of the Time Zone feature. Use this for backward compatibility if you are not using local time.
Legacy Format with Timezone - Use this format to represent local time in CDRs.
RFC - 2822 with optional day of week - Use this format to represent local time with optional day of week in CDRs.
Format | Example |
Legacy Format | Dialogic-setup-time = "TUE FEB 20 22:24:45:270 2007" |
Legacy Format with Timezone | Dialogic-setup-time = "WED FEB 14 12:05:54:740 2007 -0500" |
RFC-2822 with optional day of week | Dialogic-setup-time = "Tue, 20 Feb 2007 23:31:36.553 +0000" |
Configuring order of RADIUS Server Access
Each IMG 2020 configured as a RADIUS Client can be configured to communicate with two RADIUS Authentication Servers (Primary and Secondary), and two Accounting Servers (Primary and Secondary). The order in which each of the RADIUS servers is used is dictated through the settings of the next four fields.
Primary Authentication Radius Server
The RADIUS Server ID that is used as the primary Authentication Server. Select from the drop down list which is populated with all Radius Authentication Servers that have been configured. This field is Automatically populated with the first Authentication Server configured. If not using an authentication server select Primary Server Not Used.
Secondary Authentication Radius Server
The Server ID that is used as the secondary Authentication Server. Select from the drop down list which is populated with all Radius Authentication Servers that have been configured. Drop-down list populated with all Radius Authentication Servers that have been configured. If not using a Secondary Authentication Server select Secondary Server Not Used.
Primary Accounting Radius Server
The Server ID that is used as the primary Accounting Server. Select from a drop down list that is populated with all Radius Accounting Servers that have been configured. Automatically populated with the first Accounting Server configured. If not using an Accounting Server select Primary Server Not Used.
Secondary Accounting Radius Server
The Server ID that is used as the secondary Authentication Server. Select from a drop down list that is populated with all Radius Accounting Servers that have been configured. If not using an Accounting Server select Primary Server Not Used.
