Integrating DMG1000, DMG2000 Media Gateways with PBXs
The PBXs listed on the Integration Notes page and in the Product Briefs are those with which Dialogic has tested with the Dialogic DMG 1000 and DMG 2000 Media Gateways.Â
However, almost any PBX will work with the DMG-series Media Gateways if it meets both of the following requirements:Â
The PBX provides one of the following types of connections or interfaces:
Analogue phone connections. These PBXs will work with the DMG1000LS series, OR
Digital handset connections (DMG1000DNI series)Â *, OR
E1/T1 ISDN interface(s) (DMG2000 and DMG4000 series), OR
BRI ISDN interface(s) (DMG3000 series)
The PBX provides the numbers required by the application; for instance, for some Unified Messaging (UM) implementations you may need the redirected number and the called party number, while for some UM implementations you may need the called party number and the calling party number. Other IVR applications may need different combinations of these numbers to be delivered in order to work effectively.
These numbers can be delivered in the following ways:
for analogue connections, either in-band using DTMF or FSK or out-of-band using a serial connection
using a digital handset connection *
using the Q.SIG or ISDN protocol on E1/T1 ISDN lines
using the Q.SIG or ISDN protocol on BRI ISDN lines
NOTE
For a list of supported digital handsets see Table 1 in this document
Â
If a PBX meets these requirements, it is probable that you can configure the Dialogic Media Gateway to work with that PBX.Â
You can use any of our Integration Notes for the gateway model that you have as a guide to configuring the gateway to work with your PBX.Â
