Introduction

Scope and Purpose

What is Sangoma® Business Voice for Microsoft Teams?

Sangoma® Business Voice for Microsoft Teams provides direct routing integration with the Microsoft Teams platform that allows you to:

  • Make and receive calls on your Microsoft Teams Softphone Via Mobile and Desktop clients using Sangoma Business Voice

  • Call Extensions and PSTN Numbers using the Teams Dialpad

  • Receive calls from PSTN

  • Use all call handling features available in the Sangoma Platform

  • Click To Dial from Microsoft Apps for Team Users

  • Supports Speed Dials, contacts and call history

What is covered in this Guide?

This guide explains the basic steps to Change or Remove Business Voice for Microsoft Teams users.

Note:
If you are adding new users, an Add-On order may be required to purchase additional Business Voice for Microsoft Teams licenses. Reference the Sangoma® Business Voice for Microsoft Teams - Purchasing Guide for more information.

Process Overview

  1. Global Admin Add, Remove or Change the MS License for the required users in the Microsoft Domain portal.

  2. Customer or Partner creates a Sangoma Support Ticket.

  3. Sangoma Portal Admin Adds, Removes or Changes Extension(s) in the Sangoma Portal.

  4. Sangoma Support Adds or Removes the required user connectors in the Business Voice for MS Teams Portal.

  5. Global Admin Runs a sync.

Prerequisites:

  • Global Admin Add, Remove or Change the MS License for the required user in the Microsoft Domain portal.

  • A Sangoma Support Ticket should be created

Accessing the Sangoma Portal Extensions page

  • Click HERE to access Sangoma Business Voice Portal and Login using your Business Voice Admin user credentials (Email address and Password).

  • Select the Configuration option at the Top the page.

  • In the Configuration View/Edit section search and select the Customer location.

  • Under the Basic Setting section select Extensions .

Adding Users and Extensions to the Sangoma portal

  • Accessing the Sangoma Portal Extensions page.

  • The extensions page defaults in the add extension mode.

    • In the right hand side of the page the section title should say Add an Extension .

  • On the Right Side of the page in the User field select the correct user for the extension.

    • If a new user is required in the user field select the Add new user option.

  • Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.

  • This will put you back to the extension list menu if all changes are complete, click on Save Changes to System button (Blue Button) at the Top of the Page.

Changing the User for an Extensions to the Sangoma portal

  • Accessing the Sangoma Portal Extensions page.

  • The extensions page defaults in the add extension mode.

    • In the right hand side of the page the section title should say Add an Extension .

  • On the left hand side of the page, under the Extensions section find the MS-Teams extension that requires to be changed.

  • Click the Edit button to the left of the extension..

  • On the Right Side of the page in the User field select the correct user for the extension.

  • Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.

  • This will put you back to the extension list menu if all changes are complete, click on Save Changes to System button (Blue Button) at the Top of the Page.

Remove Extension

Steps

  • Accessing the Sangoma Portal Extensions page.

  • Under the Extensions section find the MS-Teams extension that requires to be deleted.

  • Click the Delete button to the left of the extension..

  • Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.

  • This will put you back to the extension list menu if all changes are complete, click on Save Changes to System button (Blue Button) at the Top of the Page.

Add User connections

Prerequisites

  • Assign appropriate Microsoft license to the user.

  • Sangoma Portal User and Extension has been set up (See instructions above).

Steps

  • Create a Sangoma Support Ticket

    • In the ticket include the following information:

    • Microsoft Global Admin’s Contact Info. (At a minimum we need the their email address)

    • The User email address to be added to the Business Voice for Microsoft Teams Portal.

  • Sangoma Support will add the new user to the Business Voice for Microsoft Teams Portal.

  • Sangoma Support will notify the Microsoft Global Admin that they are required to run the Sync Teams Registration function. (The Sangoma role needs to be noted at the beginning and the fact that the Customer or Partner needs to Open a ticket with Sangoma prior to making changes or adding New user. This should be the Global Admin)

  • Microsoft Global Admin runs the Sync Teams Registration function (See Below).

Change User Connections

Prerequisites

  • Assign appropriate Microsoft license to the user.

  • Sangoma Portal User and Extension has been set up (See instructions above).

Steps

Note: Global Admin & Sangoma Must complete the following steps together.

  • Create a Sangoma Support Ticket

    • In the ticket include the following information:

    • Microsoft Global Admin’s Contact Info. (At a minimum we need the their email address)

    • The User email address to be removed from the Business Voice for Microsoft Teams Portal.

    • The User email address to be added to the Business Voice for Microsoft Teams Portal.

  • Global Admin moves the MS License to the new user in the Microsoft Domain portal.

  • Sangoma Support removes the old user from the Sangoma Business Voice for MS Teams Portal.

  • Microsoft Global Admin runs the Sync Teams Registration function (See Below).

  • Sangoma Support adds the new user to the Sangoma Business Voice for MS Teams Portal.

  • Microsoft Global Admin runs the Sync Teams Registration function (See Below).

Microsoft Teams Global Admin Syncs Users:

  • Microsoft Microsoft Teams Global Admin will login to the Sangoma Business Voice for Microsoft Teams Portal .

    • Log in using the Microsoft Credentials.

  • In the left-hand side bar:

    • Select User Management .

    • Select Manage Users .

  • Click the Sync Teams Registration button on the right-hand side of the page.

  • (This will start the process of user synchronization between Sangoma and Teams)

  • Once the system completes the synchronization the team’s changes are complete.
