DID to Fax Trunk Assignments
In order to use a FAXStation fax trunk, you will need to associate one or more DIDs with it. A DID, or "direct inward dial" phone number allows calls from the PSTN (public switched telephone network) to reach you.
DIDs assigned to FAXStation trunks are dedicated for incoming faxes on that trunk and can't be used to receive voice calls.
If the fax trunk is connected to a physical device port, then incoming faxes to the associated DID will be directed to that device's port and delivered to the connected equipment. If you assign multiple DIDs to a fax trunk, all calls to any of those DIDs will be directed to that trunk. Outgoing faxes from the equipment attached to the port will use the first DID added to the trunk as its outgoing caller ID when sending faxes, unless the device is configured differently.

DID Availability
You'll need to have DIDs available in your SIPStation account before you can assign one or more to a fax trunk. For instructions on purchasing new DIDs, see Adding Services or DIDs to your Existing Account.
A FAXStation fax trunk can only use a DID that does not have E911 service assigned. You will need to have DIDs available that do not have E911 service. You can review the DIDs section of your SIPStation account to check which DIDs have E911 service.
If you would like to use a DID that already has E911 service assigned, you can remove E911 service from it. However, one DID in your SIPStation account needs to be considered the "Master E911 DID," and you cannot remove E911 service from the Master DID. If you want to use the Master DID with a fax trunk, you'll need to designate a different DID as the Master, and then remove E911 service from the original Master first. See E911 Service for more details.

How to Assign DIDs to Fax Trunks
Log in (and choose a location if applicable).
Click on Fax in the navigation menu.
In the DID to Fax Trunk Assignments section you will see Available DIDs and Fax Trunks. To assign a DID to a trunk, simply drag an available DID from the red box and drop it into the green box for a trunk.
Drag the DID out of the Available DIDs box.
Drop it in the box for the desired trunk. The DID will be shown in blue to indicate your settings have not yet been saved.
In our example, we only have one trunk shown, but you may have multiple trunks. We have assigned 920-944-9555 to the fax trunk.Repeat for each DID that you want to assign to a trunk.
When finished, click the Save DID Assignments button.
After you save DID assignments, the newly assigned DID will be shown in green. Changes usually go live within 5-10 minutes.
You will now need to assign the Trunk to a Port on your physical Fax Device by following the wiki here.
