Introduction

We are excited to announce that Sangoma Meet Version 5.7.4 is now available. This release focuses on enhancements to the user experience, improved recording functionalities, and additional visual customization options.

This release includes the following:

New Features & Improvements

1. Enhanced Virtual Background Options

   • Added two Sangoma-branded virtual backgrounds available for users to use during presentations. This addition allows for a consistent and professional brand experience during meetings.

Bug Fixes & Optimizations

1. Improved Pop-up Notification Management

   • Addressed an issue where pop-up notifications overlapped the toolbar, preventing users from quickly accessing mute/unmute functions. Notifications will now appear without obstructing toolbar access, even in meetings with a large number of participants.

2. Volume Control Adjustment

   • Resolved an issue with the volume slider that required users to click on it to adjust the volume. Users can now drag the volume slider smoothly without additional clicks.

3. Security Menu Accessibility for New Moderators

   • Fixed a bug where users promoted to moderators could not see the security options menu. All moderators now have full access to security settings immediately upon promotion.

4. Local Recording Stability Enhancements

   • Improved the handling of local recordings when browser or window is abruptly closed or crashes. The local storage protocol now tracks recording sessions more reliably to prevent interruption or data loss.

5. Updated Recording Time Notifications

   • Adjusted the behaviour of recording duration warnings to provide accurate updates. If a recording stops automatically, the warning dialog now updates to inform users that the recording has ended and the download has been initiated.

6. Safeguard Against Lost Recordings

   • Fixed an issue where local recordings were sometimes lost if the download dialog was blocked or closed. This update ensures the recorded data remains available until the download is fully confirmed, reducing the risk of data loss.

7. Screen Sharing Message Duration

   • Shortened the display time of the “Video Disabled” message to few seconds during screen sharing, improving the visibility and continuity of shared content for participants.

8. Improved Camera Selection on macOS

   • macOS users can now select alternate cameras from the preferences menu without any issues, offering more flexibility in video input choices.

9. Recording Mute/Unmute Synchronization

   • Addressed issues with mute functionality during local recordings, ensuring seamless audio control without affecting the recording.

10. Local Storage Fixes for Desktop App

    • Resolved a bug where clearing local storage in the desktop app interrupted local recordings. Local recording functionality is now stable even after clearing storage.

Known Issues

• We continue to investigate potential improvements for local recordings.

• Users have to click on delete option if a user have previous initiated video recoding and the following dialog box appears on the screen. Clicking on download will not make this dialog box go away. It will only download the recoding again if user have already initiated the download previously.
