Changes to Sangoma Meet - Free vs Subscription Users Experience

Recently, improvements were introduced to Sangoma Meet to enhance the user experience, centered around subscription plans. Four tiers have been created and tied to subscription plans: Free, Standard, Advanced and Premium. Features are now tailored per tier, and users will have a customized video conferencing experience based on their user account type, as subscribed. These updates were introduced in Sangoma Meet Version 5.2 and will continue in versions thereafter.

What does this mean for you?

Users are required to sign-in to Sangoma Meet with their account credentials in order to enjoy the tailored experience based on their subscription plan. Users who join or schedule a meeting without signing in will be considered users from the "Free" subscription plan, which includes limited access of up to 3 attendees and a meeting duration of up to 60 minutes. So, if you see the following warning when attempting to join a meeting, follow the steps seen below the image to successfully join the meeting:

Resolution Steps:

  • Verify you are signed into your Sangoma Meet account before scheduling or joining a meeting

  • If you have a paid subscription plan you can claim the meeting after signing in, by selecting the 'CLAIM MEETING' button as show in the image below

Note: Non-subscription based customers (i.e. Free users) cannot claim a meeting as it is restricted for this user type.
