Salesforce - Missing Jabber Hostname?
A Jabber Hostname is required if you want to use the jabber services on the PBX. Usually if you just need local access to the jabber service, keeping the default Jabber Hostname of 'pbx' will work just fine. You must also have a DNS setting for the Jabber Hostname on your local DNS server so it knows how to route the traffic to the PBX.
However, if you must access the jabber service from external locations over the WAN, you will need to have a publicly resolvable Jabber Hostname set on the PBX so your DNS of your device knows how to route traffic to the PBX.
If you receive this error do the following:
Log in to the /admin
Go to Server > IP Configuration -> Advanced Options
Ensure you have a 'Jabber Hostname' set. If not, update the field to your Jabber Hostname
Save settings.
*Note that saving this page will cause the system to reset briefly, dropping all calls.
