Overview

A Mailing List is a group of contacts that can be assigned to Campaigns. The contacts in the list will be sent the campaign message once it is submitted.

To Access the Mailing Lists, select Mailing List from the menu on the left side of the page.

Once the Mailing Lists is presented you have the option to search the list, create a new mailing list, and maintain existing Mailing list.

Follow the step below to create and maintain a Mailing List.

Create and Edit a Mailing List

  • To Create a new Mailing List, click the + MAILING LIST button above the list of Mailing list.

  • To Edit a Mailing List, click the Action icon ( ) on desired Mailing List and select Edit.

    • List Name - Enter a Name for the mailing list.

    • Description - Enter a description for the mailing list.

    • Click the SAVE button

  • Once the mailing list has been created follow the steps in the Manage Members section below.

Delete Mailing List

Note: You cannot delete a Mailing List if is assigned to a scheduled or draft Campaign.

  • Click the Action icon ( ) on desired Mailing List and select Delete.

  • Click the DELETE button to complete the deletion. To cancel out of the delete function click the ( X ) in the top right corner of the pop-up.

Manage Members

  • Click the Action icon ( ) on desired Mailing List and select Manager Members. Follow the steps below to add and remove members from the mailing list.

Add Contacts to a Mailing List

  • Click the + MEMBERS button.

  • Search and select the desired contacts from the list of contacts.

  • Click the Action icon ( ) in the top right corner of the list and select + Add to ML.

Remove a contact from Mailing List

  • Click on the Trash Can ( 🗑 ) icon on the right side of the desired Contact.

  • Click the DELETE button to complete the deletion. To cancel out of the delete function click the ( X ) in the top right corner of the pop-up.

Remove multiple contacts from Mailing List

  • Search and select the desired contacts from the list of contacts.

  • Click the Action icon ( ) in the top right corner of the list and select 🗑 Delete.

  • Click the DELETE button to complete the deletion. To cancel out of the delete function click the ( X ) in the top right corner of the pop-up.

How to Import Contacts

The Sangoma Send app provides the ability to import a list of contacts using a CSV formatted file.

  • Step 1 - Create a template CSV file:

    • At the top of the Contact list, click the Import ( )icon.

    • When the Pop-up window is displayed, Click the Download Sample button.

    • A spreadsheet compatible CSV file will be created in the device's default location.

  • Step 2 - Add contacts to the new CSV file.

    • Open the downloaded export file using a spreadsheet app like Excel or Google Sheets.

    • Do not add any entries in the first column “uuid”

    • Add the following contact information:

      • uuid - Leave this field empty.

      • Firstname - Enter the contact’s first name.

      • Lastname - Enter the contact’s last name.

      • Tags - Enter an existing or new Tag (example: Monthly Newsletter).

      • Email and Phone Numbers - At least 1 of the following must be provided:

        • Email - Enter the contact’s email address.

        • Phonenumber - Enter the contact’s Phone Number that will except text messages.

      • Save the changes.

  • Step 3 - Import the contacts via the new CSV file.

    • Click the Import Icon at the top of the page.

    • Click the CHOOSE FILE button.

    • Select a previously created CSV file.

    • If the first row has column headers, click the “First row has headers” checkbox.

    • Click the IMPORT button.

    • A popup window will appear and display how many rows were processed, rejected and imported. Normally there will be at least 1 row rejected, which is the first row of column headers.
